    Services Blackboard LMS Student Email Residence Life Campuses Lorman Natchez Vicksburg News Events Calendars Marketing and Communication Publications Our website uses JavaScript to achieve certain sophisticated features visual cues and styles Please ensure that JavaScript is enabled when visiting our website for best results Help enabling JavaScript Skip to Page Content Announcements Home Announcements Item Peace Corps Plans Visit to Alcorn State for Career Fair Meets with School of AREAS Faculty Students Alcorn State University will host its annual Spring Career Fair on February 9 2016 from 9 a m to 2 p m in the James L Bolden Campus Union Ballroom Recruiters from all over the world will be in attendance to inform students about career opportunities after graduation Several companies will be represented including Cargill Regions Bank Walmart Distribution Center and Toyota Also attending will be the United States Peace Corps who will have representatives available to speak to students about the grand opportunities and benefits associated with the Peace Corps Director of Career Services Dr Joey Mitchell said The first step towards employment requires building meaningful relationships with potential employers Meaningful relationships are centered on common goals which usually involve success Dr Girish K S Panicker associate professor and director of the Center for Conservation Research School of Agriculture Research Extension and Applied Sciences will introduce Stephanie Wade Peace Corps outreach specialist during classroom visits to students and faculty in the School of AREAS on Thursday February 9 in the Jesse A Morris Sr W C Boykin Agricultural Building The visits will be conducted in Agricultural Science classes beginning at 9 15 a m It s truly an honor to work with a service oriented organization that understands the importance of peace building and human development Wade said The Peace Corps offers jobs in 6 different program

    Life Campuses Lorman Natchez Vicksburg News Events Calendars Marketing and Communication Publications Our website uses JavaScript to achieve certain sophisticated features visual cues and styles Please ensure that JavaScript is enabled when visiting our website for best results Help enabling JavaScript Skip to Page Content Announcements Home Announcements Item Alcorn psychology students participate in enrichment conferences Alcorn State University s psychology students attended the Mississippi Counseling Association s MCA annual conference Nov 4 6 at the Gulf Coast Convention Center in Biloxi Mississippi This is the second year the Alcorn psychology students attended the annual conference Rachel Granderson Rayford Mullins Angel Brinner Yolanda Jackson Ari anna Magee Ryshine Lucas Justin Knight and E niya Rowry enjoyed a fulfilling educational experience Some of the students stated they felt like students today and counselors tomorrow Many of the students were volunteer workers for the conference and also facilitators for some of the counselors The students engaged in lectures that would better assist them with their studies Their professor Dr LaShawn Thompson a member of MCA accompanied these students One of the students Angel Brinner designed a ribbon for her organization Psychology Society The organization donated the ribbon with all of the names of the people who donated to the Pink Heart Fund Psychology Society donated 100 and the ribbon to the Pink Heart Fund Foundation at the MCA Conference The Pink Heart Fund Foundation stated that the ribbon that was donated would be displayed in their Hall of Fame Rayford Mullins a junior psychology major and the president of Psychology Society stated that the conference was very beneficial to his field of study The MCA Conference allowed me to see the road I would have to travel to meet my desired career said Rayford I did a lot of networking with other

    Life Campuses Lorman Natchez Vicksburg News Events Calendars Marketing and Communication Publications Our website uses JavaScript to achieve certain sophisticated features visual cues and styles Please ensure that JavaScript is enabled when visiting our website for best results Help enabling JavaScript Skip to Page Content Announcements Home Announcements Item Alcorn s Psychology Society shows growth Alcorn State University s Psychology Society has showed an increase in growth and participation during this semester The organization recently participated in Alcorn s Homecoming activities for the first time by introducing Eldric Moody and E niya Rowry as Mr and Miss Psychology Society The two reflected on how exciting it was to be the first to represent the organization It was an honor to be elected the first Mr Psychology Society said Eldric My representation of the organization in Coronation felt more than ordinary because we are trying to get more acknowledgement so that we can become one of the most known organizations on campus I am the first Miss Psychology Society said E niya I honestly feel so honored that my peers thought that I was worthy of the title To know that I am now part of a little piece of Alcorn s history gives me so much joy Coronation isn t the only event that the organization has participated in Last week they accepted donations during their Go PINK for a Cure breast cancer event in the Clinton J Bristow Jr Dining Hall lobby They continued the event with a breast cancer walk around the horseshoe They also have gotten involved in student led activities during football games Organization member Justin Knight is excited about the organization s progress and its potential Over the course of being involved in the Psychology Society I ve seen progress over the years said Justin
