    Professor Emerita January 17 2012 Laura Lemire Communications and Marketing 603 641 7242 Jeanne Kenison professor emerita and former chair of the economics and business department died unexpectedly January 13 She was a graduate of Mount Saint Mary College in Hooksett N H and earned a master of arts degree and M B A at Rollins College She received her doctorate in education from Vanderbilt University in 1986 She served as a chair of the Department of Economics and Business from 1994 until she retired in May 2010 Prior to joining the faculty of Saint Anselm College she taught mathematics at New Hampshire College Jeanne Kenison will be remembered for her many contributions to Saint Anselm College both as a professor and as a leader of her department and among faculty She was an outstanding teacher and chairperson beloved by all her colleagues says Fr Peter Guerin O S B Family members include alumni Tracy Kenison Holt 86 and Dale Kenison Barnes 89 and husband and Saint Anselm College Professor Emeritus of the economics and business department Arthur Kenison 63 Thursday Jan 26 4 7 p m calling hours Boufford Funeral Home 110 Bridge Street Manchester N H Friday Jan

    Lemire Communications and Marketing 603 641 7242 Saint Anselm College will celebrate the life and legacy of Dr Martin Luther King Jr with a series of events throughout January The month long commemoration will kick off with a prayer breakfast on Monday Jan 16 as keynote speaker T J Wheeler discusses Occupying the Dream Wheeler an activist educator and performer will explore how music has influenced the struggles for civil rights and human freedom and the role it can play in overcoming racism Other special events include a poetry performance by Kemi Alabi a lecture by author and activist Bakari Kitawana on The King Legacy and the Hip Hop Generation and a service project that involves Saint Anselm students and 8 15 year olds reflecting on their dreams and learning about Dr King and the Civil Rights Movement Regarding the program Multicultural Center Director Yemi Mahoney says It is a reflection of Saint Anselm s commitment to fostering understanding experience and appreciation of the world s diversity and of our mission as a Catholic Benedictine liberal arts college It is our hope that this diverse array of events will remind us of the relevance of his message today as well

    Republicans and hosted by the New Hampshire Insitute of Politics and Political Library As of 12 10 at 9 30 p m all confirmed attendees have been sent an email with further instructions to attend this debate We were unable to accommodate all requests due to very high interest No additional tickets are available at this time through the college Campaign Visibility Area Guidelines The intent of the Campaign Visibility Area CVA is to provide campaigns and other groups with a designated area to express their free speech rights It is important to remember however that while we want to allow this opportunity safety is our number one concern Many if not all of the rules outlined below are designed to ensure safety of all CVA participants along with the debate attendees It should also be noted that Saint Anselm College is private property located within a residential area of Goffstown and Manchester and we ask all CVA participants to be respectful of the local community Media Advisory December 9 2011 A Lincoln Douglas style debate between Republican presidential candidates Newt Gingrich and Jon Huntsman will take place on the campus of Saint Anselm College at 4 p m Monday December 12 at the Dana Center for the Humanities Issues discussed during this 90 minute debate will focus on national security and foreign policy There will be no designated media parking with the exception of an active load unload zone and designated live truck parking Members of the media may check in at 3 15 at the side entrance to the Dana Center Press credentials will be issued at the door with a valid ID Doors to the debate hall will close at 3 50 Media filing space will be available However reporters will not be able to use the

  • The NHIOP and Political Library Opens the Bridges House Exhibit : Saint Anselm College
    it will reopen 1 2 12 The New Hampshire Institute of Politics Political Library at Saint Anselm College has opened The Bridges House Exhibit which will run through April 30 The exhibit features historical items on loan from the Bridges House Historical Collection and first families of the State of New Hampshire The exhibit is open from 9 a m to 3 p m Monday through Friday and is free and open to the public Arranged in cooperation with New Hampshire s first lady Dr Susan Lynch it represents the first time many of the artifacts are on display They include antique furniture silver china books paintings and photographs owned by the Bridges family and subsequent governors H Styles Bridges was one of New Hampshire s most powerful and prominent political figures He served as governor of New Hampshire from 1935 to 1937 and as a United States senator from 1937 until he died in 1961 He and his wife bequeathed their 1869 Greek Revival style home in Concord along with its furnishings to the state following Mrs Bridges death in 1969 The bequest specified that the Bridges House be identified as the official residence of the governor The first

    Break Alternative trips and was a member of the King Edward Society which does charitable work on and off campus When a classmate was seriously injured Ryan offered emotional and physical support throughout his long recovery showing the meaning of true friendship and the power of prayer Malachy T Coghlan 72 Alumni Award of Merit Coghlan works for the Federal Aviation Administration serving as the coordinator for the Airway Facilities Division s executive staff in the Western pacific Region He handles labor and employment law equal employment opportunity cases and worker s compensation cases earning praise for his vigilance in the area of anti discrimination As a commissioned officer in the U S Army Reserve Judge Advocate General Corps he prepares soldiers for deployment by making sure their legal needs are met and their affairs are in order Robert G Dwyer 65 P 93 Joseph P Collins 34 Meritorious Service Award Dwyer s dedication to the Class of 1965 has earned him the title PFL President for Life For the 45th class reunion Dwyer made sure that as many members of the class as possible were personally contacted and invited As a result nearly 70 classmates attended and made pledges of almost 48 000 for the college Dwyer accepted the award on behalf of the Class of 1965 John P Gallivan 01 Young Alumni Service Award After his wife received a stem cell transplant as part of treatment for leukemia Gallivan spearheaded the passage of a bill in the Connecticut Legislature requiring insurance companies to cover the cost of bone marrow testing This bill helps increase the number of donors in the international bone marrow registry which improves the likelihood of finding matches for individuals with leukemia Lisa Kennedy Sheldon 78 Health Services Award Lisa Kennedy Sheldon is an oncology
