    however seem utopian to aspire to apply responsible principles in an environment which can sometimes be prone to fostering irresponsible behaviours be they motivated by the continuous search for ever improving performance at all costs or by the pursuit of more individual interests Responsible business management means empowering the employees in the decision and policy making processes of their company It requires a form of consensus based around shared values and a more participatory approach to management Responsible management also implies making the company a place conducive to social interaction offering a network which facilitates the sharing of cross functional and cross generational experiences Can information systems really help in the drive to reshape responsibility and ethics in business management What roles can they play in improving the inclusion of social and environmental issues in managerial practices What are the consequences in terms of blurring the distinction between work and personal life What are the implications in terms of personal identity and liberty Will this lead to the emergence of new more hybrid organizational approaches better integrated with their ecosystems Key issues arise directly out of current events and trends in the Information Systems industry Firstly there are issues in

    sociology economics law etc The AIM Symposium is an event conducive to sharing knowledge and exchanging experiences in a convivial atmosphere Proposals may be submitted in either English or French and in accordance with the format specified by the academic journal SIM Systèmes d Information et Management Starting from this year text must be laid out as a single column Proposals must be submitted on the EasyChair platform https www easychair org account signin cgi conf aim2012 All submitted paper proposals must be original and must not have been previously offered to other conferences or publications They will be blind reviewed by two members of the reading committee Only papers presented as part of the Symposium will be published in the proceedings A selection of papers will be put forward for publication in Systèmes d Information et Management SIM At the end of the symposium a collective work dedicated to the main theme of the conference Towards responsible and ethical business management What contribution from Information Systems will be published by Hermès Science Lavoisier Three types of proposals are accepted Research papers these must present significant research works or report on progress achieved by on going works The accepted papers
