    is governed by an advisory committee Access to the contents of the BIR By default the BIR uses the Open Access model of content freely and openly available to all Content deposited in the BIR should be considered permanent General criteria for inclusion in the Brandeis Institutional Repository The primary criterion for inclusion in the BIR is original work created by a current member of the Brandeis community The BIR Advisory Committee will address any questions about appropriateness of content for the institutional repository in keeping with University policies The work should be In digital format Educational or research focused The final version ready for distribution The author creator must grant the BIR non exclusive preservation and distribution rights to the work as described in the submission license In evaluating specific materials for inclusion in the BIR consideration is given to their purpose preservation audience rights and permissions Examples of contributions welcomed in the Brandeis Institutional Repository Faculty and staff publications and creations such as monographs preprints or postprints of published articles technical reports white papers conference presentations and proceedings data sets music scores and compositions recorded performances and other artistic creations Also of interest are learning objects such as

    A and Julia M Trustman Collection of Honoré Daumier Lithographs at Brandeis University is one of the major collections in this country of the works of Honoré Daumier The Trustman Collection comprises nearly the entire oeuvre of Daumier in the lithographic medium making the Trustman Collection a unique resource for the study of Daumier s art and nineteenth century French history There are approximately four thousand original lithographs some proofs and several illustrated books and woodcuts While the vast majority of these prints are from the large editions done on newsprint there are also many fine examples printed on wove white paper sur blanc The digitized collection of Honoré Daumier lithographs has been made possible by a 2001 Institute of Museum and Library Services IMLS grant Copyright Brandeis University permits use of these materials under the fair use clause of the 1976 copyright act All images in this collection are available to individuals for the purposes of personal use research and teaching The following credit line must be included with each item used Benjamin A and Julia M Trustman Collection of Honoré Daumier Lithographs Robert D Farber University Archives Special Collections Department Brandeis University Anyone wishing to use these images
