    newspaper It allows students to develop as reporters photographers graphic designers and business managers It is open to students of all majors Visit the Current Online Poetry Underground Poetry Underground is an organization for anyone who loves poetry The group is open to all styles of poetry including spoken word and rap Fiction writers dramatists essayists artists and all other creative types are also welcome Whether you are a literary veteran or are ignorant of poetry altogether this organization of open minded artists offers trips to readings open mic nights poetry slams and weekly meetings Sigma Tau Delta Sigma Tau Delta is the national English Honorary Fraternity The Carthage chapter of Sigma Tau Delta meets to promote and involve members in literature poetry and the theater With more than 600 chapters nationwide and more than 7 000 active members this English honorary fraternity is a wonderful way to become more involved in the Carthage community and make connections with scholars across the nation Carthage s chapter of Sigma Tau Delta is very active The group organizes field trips parties and book clubs as well as the English major s Chapbook readings for those students earning an emphasis in creative writing Membership is based on credit for classes in the English program and a member s grade point average Phi Lambda Mu Also popular with English majors Phi Lamda Mu is an academic fraternity dedicated to the promotion and study of the art of filmmaking Members participate in the filmmaking process and have opportunities to share their appreciation of the cinema The Driftwood Members of the all student staff of The Driftwood Carthage s yearbook work throughout the school year to preserve memories of Carthage traditions and achievements Students learn about Carthage and work together with members of the Carthage community
