    Alpha Theta the national history honorary society Members must have taken at least 12 credits in history and achieved at least a 3 1 GPA in the History Department Carthage College Chapter of Amnesty International Amnesty International is a nonpartisan international human rights organization that focuses on specific areas and issues writes letter petitions and participates in community education efforts Model UN of Carthage History majors are often interested in Model United Nations a student run organization that introduces students to the inner workings of the United Nations and global issues by allowing students to participate in simulations of the Security Council General Assembly and Economic and Social Council Participants travel to conferences and engage in negotiations and debates about global issues that are being discussed by the world s leaders today International Friendship Society This group of students comes together to bring awareness to the Carthage community about other cultures including food music dance and more IFS also organizes the Annual International Dinner which raises money for an elected nonprofit organization Latinos Unidos Many History majors particularly those with an interest in Latino history are interested in Carthage s Chapter of Latinos Unidos Founded in 1999 Latinos Unidos aims
