    If you are selected to compete you and your family will be invited to attend the Business Scholarship Competition on February 1 2013 Competing students will be required to take a comprehensive examination the day of the competition The day will be filled with exciting activities You ll have candid discussions with current Carthage business students You ll learn about short term and semester long study abroad programs available to you and how they can impact your education and career preparation Carthage alumni will also share their experiences and insights Studying Business at Carthage With a first class learning center expert faculty and a prime location in the heart of a major business corridor the Business Administration Department at Carthage offers an unequaled experience in learning business principles In Carthage business courses students enhance their ability and cultivate their enthusiasm to work in the dynamic global conditions of the 21st century The choice of majors within the business administration department allows students to tailor their education to their interests while preparing for a variety of careers in both the public and private sectors Carthage offers the following four majors Accounting Finance Management Marketing At Carthage students choose a specific major in business while studying a common foundation in accounting economics functional business areas and management In addition to the common foundation and specific major courses nearly 60 percent of their education comes from a wide variety of liberal arts areas including fine arts foreign language history natural sciences philosophy psychology and religion This approach to education gives our graduates a wide knowledge base for evaluating new ideas and refines their writing speaking and critical thinking skills in a variety of contexts to prepare them for the coming changes they will face over the course of their careers Questions Get answers

    information about the Carthage Debate Scholarships About the Carthage Debate Scholarships Each year Carthage offers a number of debate scholarships of up to 10 000 per year renewable for a total of four years These scholarships may be awarded in addition to other merit awards for which a student is eligible not to exceed full tuition They are renewable based on participation in debate strong academic standing and satisfactory academic progress toward graduation Recipients are selected by the director of debate by application and additional evaluation All aspects of the application must be completed by March 2 2013 The Carthage commitment to scholars extends beyond the Debate Scholarships Top students typically receive a substantial package of multiple no need awards ranging from 5 000 to full tuition Many qualify for additional need based assistance making Carthage quite affordable Criteria for Debate Scholarship Consideration A combination of the following criteria will be taken into consideration when awarding Debate Scholarships listed in order of importance and preferred experience Style s of Debate in which a student has participated Although policy debate participation is preferred experience in more than one style is looked upon favorably Policy Lincoln Douglas Congress and Public Forum Mock Trial Years of Debate Experience Quality of Debate program in which student participated Quantity of tournaments won Speaker Awards 2 letters of recommendation one each from a debate coach and a high school faculty member You must submit your application for admission and supporting materials to Carthage to be eligible for the Debate Scholarship The Carthage Debate Team The Carthage Debate Team competes in NPDA NPTE Parliamentary debate This form of debate rewards the quick construction of rigorous arguments as well as the ability to synthesize arguments into persuasive coherent narratives Collegiate debate confers several benefits onto its participants Debate

    about the Dr F Gregory Campbell Kenosha County Scholarship About the Dr F Gregory Campbell Kenosha County Scholarships Two 1 250 per year scholarships 5 000 over four years awarded to Kenosha County residents 2013 Kenosha County high school graduates Applicants with an emphasis on a business related degree are preferred This scholarship program was created by the Kenosha Area Business Alliance KABA and the Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce to honor the tenure and achievements of Dr F Gregory Campbell who was the 21st President of Carthage The scholarships are made possible by donations from Gateway Mortgage Company Jockey International Kenosha Area Business Alliance Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce and United Hospital System You must submit your application for admission and supporting materials to Carthage to be eligible for this scholarship Scholarship Criteria Kenosha County resident 2013 graduating senior of a Kenosha County high school public or private Demonstrated community involvement including community groups religious organizations volunteer work or other involvement Participation in extracurricular activities such as apprenticeships co op programs work experience athletics art clubs etc Applicants with an emphasis on a business related degree are preferred In order to be considered for the Dr F Gregory Campbell

    may be increased or decreased at the discretion of the Alumni Council The scholarship is funded through alumni travel gift and credit card programs Alumni are also provided with the opportunity to contribute to the scholarship through the annual fund drive To apply the applicant must be a direct relative of a graduate parents siblings aunts uncles grandparents and or cousins and answer the essay question What Carthage memories or traditions did you learn about from your relative s that influenced your decision to apply to Carthage Please include your name at the top of the essay In addition it is requested that each applicant please include the names of any relatives who attended Carthage parents aunts uncles grandparents siblings cousins etc as it is very interesting and exciting to see how the Carthage tradition has continued through generations We also use this information to ensure that our records are correct This information will not influence the scholarship competition and will only be shown to the scholarship committee once the winner s have been selected Please return your essay and information to Lauren Hansen by e mail lhansen carthage edu or by faxing to 262 551 5973 no later than
