    Department at Gateway Technical College on implementing the grant Food for Learning funded by the Nutrition Physical Activity and Obesity Program under the Local Implementation of the Wisconsin Nutrition and Physical Activity State Plan The focus of Professor Moore s work is engaging children with and without learning disabilities in real world problem solving projects and scientific investigations with hands on activities and experiments During her 13 years at Carthage she has been awarded more than 15 grants from foundations such as the Ameritech Wisconsin Federation of Independent Colleges Faculty Development Program the AT T Learning Network Teaching and Technology Grant Program the SC Johnson Fund the Frank and Irene List Saemann Foundation Sustainable Racine and the Root Pike Watershed Initiative Network Professor Moore and Carthage students under her direction teach mathematics and science to elementary students at local public and private schools using a wide range of education technology Professor Moore has presented her approach to teacher education through collaborations with teachers at Professional Development Schools at numerous international national and regional conferences including the International Literacy and Education Research Network Conference on Learning the International Conference on Mathematics Science Education and Technology North American Association for Environmental Education the national and regional conferences of the National Science Teachers Association the Governor of Wisconsin s Educational Technology Conference and Annual Conference of the of the Wisconsin Society of Science Teachers In recent years she has completed RESTORE Leadership Institute at the University of Wisconsin Madison Arboretum She serves as the team leader of the Southeastern Wisconsin site for Earth Partnership with Schools Project She co taught the week long workshop Integrating Outdoor Education into the Wisconsin Model Academic Standards with Tracy Gartner Director of Environmental Science Program at Carthage at the Chiwaukee Academy in August 2007 to recruit teachers
