    Snacks 8 24 2015 8 24 2015 Courtyard View All Events MORE HEADLINES CCBC AT SOUTHPOINTE OFFERS NEW AFFORDABLE DEGREE PROGRAMS CCBC APPOINTS FIRST DEAN FOR SCHOOL OF BUSINESS ARTS SCIENCES AND TECHNOLOGY View All News The CCBC Foundation The CCBC Foundation is an integral part of the success of the Community College of Beaver County While the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania s support is critically important to CCBC funding levels have decreased Although the college has formed new budget driven plans for maintaining the quality education for those attending they still must seek supplemental funds if it is to maintain the standard of excellence expected by a demanding workplace environment Private dollars raised by the CCBC Foundation do not replace other sources of revenue rather private dollars allow the CCBC Foundation to supplement the college s strategic plans for distinctive growth and development and also assist hundreds of deserving students and worthy faculty with scholarships and grants Our Students Our Success Our Purpose As a local community college CCBC changes lives in so many ways We ve created a climate that encourages personal and academic growth by preparing students for entry into the workforce career advancement or career change through certificate and associate degree programs We also prepare our students for transfer to baccalaureate institutions by providing transfer degrees courses and services The CCBC Foundation is a non profit 501 C 3 entity As such tax deductible gifts of cash securities personal and or real property are welcomed All gifts are used to achieve the stated mission of the CCBC Foundation which is to support scholarship and programs at CCBC The CCBC Foundation is totally funded by contributors As you review some of the ways to chart your personal gifting and planned giving strategies please keep the CCBC Foundation in

    STEM science technology engineering and mathematics awareness and career vision in students is the development of an Aviation Academy for high school students Students in grades 10 to 12 from participating school districts have the opportunity to experience firsthand aspects of aviation through four distinct pathways including professional pilot air traffic control aerospace management and unmanned aerial vehicles As a dual enrollment program the Academy offers students the opportunity to spend half of the day at their high school then the other half taking courses in science technology engineering and math taught by CCBC faculty members on campus at the Aviation Sciences Center in Chippewa Some students will have the opportunity to graduate from high school with more than half of a CCBC associate degree completed New Process Technology Program The latest development that promises multiple business and industry partnerships is the College s newest program in Process Technology The program which is the result of a National Science Foundation NSF grant is being developed in collaboration with local K 12 educators and the Beaver County Career and Technology Center in order to spark an early interest in STEM education in their students Additionally curriculum creation for the program is being led by industry partners such as NOVA Chemicals BASF and ARDEX to meet the needs of their companies Postsecondary Educational Partners The College also works with other higher education institutions to create pathways for students who wish to pursue bachelor degrees Articulation Agreements The College has established articulation agreements with more than 25 colleges and universities and more are currently under development Articulation agreements set a clear path for transfer which eases the process and saves students time and money while encouraging them to continue their education Long standing partnerships exist with many of the area s four year institutions including Geneva College for aviation University of Pittsburgh for nursing and criminal justice and Robert Morris University for nursing biological sciences pre engineering networking and more Through PA Transfer and Articulation Center PA TRAC graduates of one of 11 selected majors can transfer all earned degree credits and enter into the junior level at one of the 14 participating universities in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Franklin University Offers Onsite Bachelor s Degrees One of the College s most notable agreements with a four year university is the continued partnership with Franklin University in Columbus Ohio After first having an agreement to offer Franklin University s online degree program options to CCBC students Franklin University opened an onsite location at the College s main campus in Monaca in October 2013 CCBC students can complete three years of the selected four year Franklin degrees through CCBC courses at CCBC tuition rates and then continue on for a year of Franklin University courses at CCBC The total cost of the four year program is significantly less than attending Franklin s main campus More to come A similar model is in the final stages of development with Southern Illinois University
