    Staff CONTACT INFORMATION LCDR Crist Holveck U S Coast Guard Academy Associate Director of Admissions for Recruiting 31 Mohegan Avenue New London CT 06320 Office 860 701 6783 Crist M Holveck uscga edu LCDR Crist Holveck Welcome to the Coast Guard Academy I lead our team of Admission Officers and in my spare time also coach the Men s Rugby team one of the most popular club sports on campus I served for six years in the Navy before graduating from the Coast Guard s Officer Candidate School as an active duty LT who headed straight to flight school at the Naval Aviation Training Center Pensacola Florida the Navy and Coast Guard both use Pensacola for basic flight training I have since enjoyed back to back aviation tours in Miami Florida and Atlantic City New Jersey Within weeks of reporting to Miami Air Station I deployed to New Orleans to respond to Hurricane Katrina The operations were intense as we rescued people from the water and rooftops non stop for weeks in the Coast Guard s largest search and rescue operation in history Over 30 000 persons in distress were rescued I fly the HH 65 Dolphin helicopter In Atlantic

    Aquino Thanks for visiting my web page I am excited to serve as your Admission Officer I was born in the Philippines and thanks to my father s Navy career moved to the U S and grew up in Japan Italy and the United Kingdom Maybe that s why I like going to sea I am one of about 40 cadets in my Academy class who first attended Marion Military Institute in Marion Alabama as a CGA Scholar Marion is home of the first and most distinguished service academy prep program in the country Marion definitely helped me get ready for the Academy Plus I met friends who went on to the other military academies A highlight of my time as a cadet was sailing America s Tall Ship Eagle something you will do too During sophomore 3 c summer we sailed the Mediterranean visiting Spain Italy Monaco France then made a transatlantic crossing to Bermuda My senior 1 c summer was aboard a high endurance cutter Jarvis out of Honolulu enforcing drug and fishery laws in the Pacific My first assignment as an officer was aboard a medium endurance cutter Thetis home ported in Key West Florida where I

    Admissions Staff LTJG Gregory Mitchell I graduated from Parkview Baptist High School in Baton Rouge Louisiana and learned about the Academy from the tennis head coach who asked me to play at the Academy My first stop after graduating from high school was prep school which the Coast Guard paid for My time at prep school was invaluable as I learned what being a cadet meant got exposure to course work I didn t get in high school and left with a great understanding of what it would take to succeed at the Academy As a cadet I got a lot of experience at sea every summer So I was ready for my first assignment aboard Boutwell home ported in San Diego California I was fortunate to train as a Deck Watch Officer and serve as the Gunnery and Fire Control Officer I was in charge of all weapon systems on the ship and the systems used to fire them A highlight of my first tour was Eastern Pacific counter drug patrols I was lucky enough to drive the ship during two go fast chases that ended up with drug interdictions I ve also been to the Bering Sea and

    Cadet Life and Career Options Early Action Medical PFE Preparation for Non Seniors Standardized Tests Statistics Request More Information Congressional Staff Meet the Admissions Staff LT Jessica Vogel I am from Ocala Florida and prior to my senior year in high school I was fortunate enough to participate in the Academy Introduction Mission AIM a high intensity week long summer program for high school students about to start their senior year This convinced me to apply I was drawn to the Coast Guard because of its humanitarian missions Following my high school graduation I was admitted into the Coast Guard Academy Scholars program and prepped for a year at the Coast Guard s expense before enrolling at the Academy I graduated from the Coast Guard Academy in 2010 earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Research and Computer Analysis applied math and modeling Before returning to the Academy as an Admissions Officer I was a stationed aboard the medium endurance cutter Valiant in Miami Florida followed by Coast Guard Sector St Petersburg Florida Operationally the Coast Guard is incredibly busy in Florida and a great place to start your career It was great to be stationed close to home

    Options Early Action Medical PFE Preparation for Non Seniors Standardized Tests Statistics Request More Information Congressional Staff Meet the Admissions Staff LT Matt Tighe Thanks for your interest in the Coast Guard Academy As a Reserve officer I serve as a member of the Academy Admissions team stationed on the west coast in my hometown of Seattle Washington Reservists are civilians who are activated in time of need I earned my commission as a Coast Guard officer in 2006 My first assignment parallels my civilian career I was the Sector Puget Sound Enforcement Division Operation Officer More recently I served as the Continuity of Operations Planner making plans to prepare and respond in the event of large scale emergencies and as the District Commanders Law Enforcement Duty Officer standing watch in the operations center As a civilian I am a law enforcement officer in the King County Sheriff Office As a former Army Ranger I am happy to share my thoughts about the differences between the Coast Guard and the Department of Defense services They are all great organizations What I appreciate about the Coast Guard is making a difference in the lives of people here at home every day

    and Career Options Early Action Medical PFE Preparation for Non Seniors Standardized Tests Statistics Request More Information Congressional Staff Meet the Admissions Staff LTJG Omar Castillo Thanks for visiting my web page I am assigned to the Reserve forces of the Coast Guard Reserves are a team of civilians activated in time of need I jumped at the chance to serve as an Admissions Officer and represent the Academy as the Western Region Territory Manager while living in San Diego California I joined the Coast Guard in 1997 starting my career as a Maritime Enforcement Specialist One of my favorite assignments was aboard the 110 foot patrol boat Farallon home ported in Miami Beach Florida I participated in dozens of missions off the Bahamas and in the Caribbean including search and rescue drug interdiction and migrant interdiction This class of ship is commanded by a junior officer and it s a sought after assignment for Academy graduates I moved to San Diego in 2012 where I support environmental protection and pollution response operations In my civilian role I am a Deputy U S Marshal assigned to the San Diego Fugitive Task Force I visit high schools in California and elsewhere
