  • First Student in new Doctor of Education Concentration Comes to Class | Columbia International University
    Instructional Leadership concentration is the director of curriculum at the Christian Academy School System in Louisville Ky It serves over 2 700 students on four campuses in Louisville and in nearby New Albany Ind The school system is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International ACSI which has had a long relationship with CIU Gallagher who has an undergraduate degree from Penn State and a master s degree from the University of Maryland says the concentration will give her a broader knowledge base I always feel like I m missing pieces that there is something I don t have and if I have a little more knowledge I ll understand things better Gallagher said But in addition to that educators are so bombarded with research and most of the research comes from the public sector How do you take that research what the world says and stand that up to a biblical worldview Gallagher says she was first introduced to CIU when professors from the CIU School of Education came to her school system to hold professional development workshops She appreciated how they approached education from a biblical worldview She was also impressed with CIU graduates who came

    Matt Densky Drew Williams tour coordinator Michelle MacGregor Grayson Markle and Izzy Markle Click image to view a larger version Friends and alumni hold a finish line tape as the 1More Tour comes to an end Click image to view a larger version A group of CIU alumni in Maine organized a cookout to celebrate the completion of the 1More Tour July 26 2010 1 800 Mile Bicycle Tour of East Coast Ends in Portland Maine Five young men on bicycles representing Columbia International University circled the Portland Head Light a Portland Maine lighthouse landmark on July 27 ending a 1 800 mile tour of the East Coast that began in Fernandina Beach Fla on June 7 The 1More Tour featured four CIU students and one CIU alumnus Matthew Densky Jeremy Rife Drew Williams and brothers Izzy and Grayson Markle In what amounted to a new sport called Extreme College Recruiting the goal of the tour was to recruit 1More student for CIU reconnect with 1More CIU alumnus and share God s love and forgiveness with 1More person The men made stops in cities along the way to speak in churches and to stay in the homes of CIU alumni

    well known around the world for his outreach to the nations David M Beasley served as governor of South Carolina from 1995 1999 But his career in government began in 1979 when he was elected to the South Carolina House of Representatives where he served in various leadership positions until 1992 Born in Lamar S C Beasley earned a bachelor s degree and a law degree from the University of South Carolina During his term as governor Beasley led delegations on economic development and trade missions throughout Asia Europe and Africa resulting in the recruitment or expansion of more than 400 large corporations to South Carolina and 22 billion in new investment After leaving office Beasley served as a fellow at the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government In 2002 he led a 21 person delegation focused on economic development to Tunisia His experience in international business relations led him to cofound the Center for Global Strategies Ltd CGS in 2005 CGS integrates peoples worldwide into the global economy by connecting them with experienced professionals and coaches while at the same time establishing cross cultural ties of friendship investment trade exchange of ideas peace and understanding Beasley serves as chairman

  • It Happened at Public School: A Life Changed for Eternity | Columbia International University
    a desk I did not sign up for this class and I do not want to be here he said I worship Satan and I serve him With this statement he put his head down on the desk This was met with stunned silence from the rest of the class The class is Bible and I teach in the public school as an elective And so it began I was a bit shaken up but I responded with You are welcome to change classes You can take drama or art or P E but if you stay in this class you will listen and you will keep your head up I fully expected to never see him again but he returned the next day and the next He did keep his head up and he did listen and slowly I began to see God at work I requested prayer for him from godly people that I knew would pray I asked God to give me a love for him and He did Teenagers know if you love them and David began to know that there was something different about this class and something different about me Since the class is an elective students must choose to take it It was strange that David said he did not choose the class I now know God chose David and put him in Bible class I was teaching the life of Jesus from all four gospels As we worked through the life of Jesus David began to change The words written on his arms and hands began to go Next the jewelry was gone The first day he wore a normal t shirt to class I gave him a high five I knew you would notice he smiled David asked questions He read
