    in 2012 Prior to that he taught intercultural studies and church history at Liberty University for six years Ed previously served for fourteen years in intercultural ministry working primarily among Muslims in France North Africa and the USA Ed earned a PhD in Historical Theology from the University of Wales UK and a PhD in Intercultural Studies from the University of Pretoria South Africa In addition to a number of scholarly and practical articles he has written two books Augustine as Mentor A Model for Preparing Spiritual Leaders and Brazilian Evangelical Missions in the Arab World and translated François Decret s Early Christianity in North Africa from French Currently Ed is working on two forthcoming books Mission in the Early Church and Rethinking Constantine As a teacher Ed loves coming alongside students and helping them discover their place in the mission of God While he believes that the classroom is a passionate environment for mentoring for mission he also enjoys meeting students for coffee and meals and serving together in ministry projects and short term mission trips Since 1999 Ed has been married to Shawn and together they parent Brennan Emma and Eve whom they refer to as three amazing

    growth for CIU both in programs and in buildings It was during his administration that the school changed its name from Columbia Bible College to Columbia International University During that time the CIU European campus in Korntal Germany was also accredited by SACS and by the Association of Theological Schools ATS Miller also oversaw the addition of CIU s Muslim studies program the Distance Learning Program the Graduate School Education Program and the Communication Program in the Undergraduate School Buildings that were constructed on campus during Miller s presidency include The Schuster Building the Alumni Center and improvements to student residences including the installation of air conditioning Miller was also involved in the expansion of satellite locations for Ben Lippen School and the expansion of CIU s broadcasting division when radio station New Life 91 9 WRCM in Charlotte N C went on the air Miller has also served as a missionary to Sweden and has been involved in church planting He has ministered in several foreign countries including Eastern Europe India and Egypt In high school and college Miller worked as a sports reporter and columnist for the Arizona Republic and Phoenix Gazette He and his wife Jeanne have

    work among Muslims in Dera Ghazi Khan South Central Punjab He worked with a local church and operated a reading room in the bazaar After completing his bachelor of theology degree at Vancouver Bible College during a furlough in 1974 Larson returned to Dera Ghazi Khan In 1975 he and his wife Carol launched Newspaper Evangelism putting ads in national newspapers and sending literature to those who responded In 1976 he started the Good News Center a Bible correspondence school that is still functioning under Pakistani leadership He supervised the work of 15 expatriates in the Pakistan Department of International Missions from 1978 to 1988 During this time he also piloted Theological Education by Extension in South Central Pakistan During a furlough in 1988 he earned a Master of Missiology degree at the Canadian Theological Seminary in Regina Saskatchewan Two years after returning to Dera Ghazi Khan he was charged with spying on the nuclear facilities of Pakistan keeping illegal maps in his vehicle and preaching Christianity in the marketplace A full and fair investigation was never made though he fought long and hard in order to clear his name In August 1991 along with his family he was forced to leave Larson earned a Master of Divinity degree at Trinity Western University in Vancouver in 1993 He went on to earn a Ph D at Fuller Seminary in 1996 He served as Dr J Dudley Woodberry s teaching assistant for several courses in Islam while at Fuller His dissertation Islamic Ideology and Fundamentalism in Pakistan Climate for Conversion to Christianity was published in 1998 by University Press of America That same year it was chosen as one of the fifteen most significant books in North America on missions Diploma Peace River Bible Institute B Th Vancouver Bible College M

    my skills and background in the service of missions journalism CIU gave me a solid foundation for my professional life While on campus I connected with Martha Reapsome a visiting teacher Martha is married to Jim Reapsome who at the time was the editor of World Pulse and Evangelical Missions Quarterly Thus began some freelance writing assignments for Jim which led to a job offer when his staff writer went to Albania as a missionary After a decade of missions journalism for Jim and then for Wheaton College I moved on to Christianity Today where I was pleased to find active interest in the global Christian movement Now I am an independent publishing professional writing books columns Bible studies and basically anything that advances the kingdom and strengthens the church My books Missions in the Third Millennium All That Jesus Asks and The Sacrament of Evangelism with Jerry Root have CIU s fingerprints all over them CIU also provided me with a strong foundation for the rest of my life I have appreciated the godly men and women of CIU and still keep in contact with President Emeritus Robertson McQuilkin and Professor Warren Larson who continue to encourage me Whether
