    Staff Community Alumni Directory Search APPLY DIRECTORY MAKE A GIFT RAIDERS SPORTS OFFICES SERVICES Home Offices and Services Institutional Planning and Research Campus Climate 2009 Menu Menu Colgate Campus Life Survey 2009 The first campus climate life survey of students was administered in 2003 At that time it was decided that it would be valuable to repeat the survey on a regular basis The first campus climate survey was administered as one of the provisions of a strategic planning effort by the university It stipulated that that the university undertake a formal campus wide assessment to help us understand the institutional climate around issues of diversity The findings were so helpful to the university that the survey process is now repeated at intervals to assess the current campus climate The 2009 survey process was first approved by former president Rebecca Chopp in the fall of 2008 and was overseen by a steering committee comprised of Interim President Lyle Roelofs Dean of Diversity Keenan Grenell Interim Provost and Dean of the Faculty Jill Harsin and Dean of the College Charlotte Johnson Colgate s Director of Institutional Planning and Research Brendt Simpson provided assistance on data analysis The survey was authored by Colgate Professors Landon Reid psychology and Carolyn Hsu sociology and was analyzed with assistance from Professor Dan Schult mathematics The survey instrument that was developed by Professors Reid and Hsu follows the research literature in this field The authors also drew student research assistants into the project The Colgate Campus Life Survey CCLS is a climate study that describes the relationships between perceptions of institutional characteristics e g academics social life student characteristics race gender socioeconomic status and student satisfaction at Colgate The results of the 2009 CCLS can guide and inform institutional and individual efforts to positively impact all

    Prospective Students Parents Families Current Students Faculty Staff Community Alumni Directory Search APPLY DIRECTORY MAKE A GIFT RAIDERS SPORTS OFFICES SERVICES Home Offices and Services Mail Services About Menu Menu About Mail Services Located on the lower level of O Connor Campus Center Mail Services provides internal mail services for students faculty staff and administration as well as operating a contract station of the United States Postal Service known as Colgate Station Postage for professional correspondence is usually paid by the university or charged to a department Official university mail entering the U S postal system must be marked to identify the appropriate department or account to be charged for the postage costs Personal correspondence sent through the USPS must be stamped before placing in outgoing mail Colgate Station is the area where all students receive mail and incoming packages The station provides postal services such as money orders registered mail certified mail parcel post and the sale of all postal supplies In addition to U S mail University Mail Services distributes official university mail and notices to departments employees and students Outgoing mail and interoffice communications are picked up and delivered to the university twice a day This service is designed to provide an efficient internal distribution system for university business correspondence It is not the intent of this system to provide distribution of personal correspondence Other campus sources are available for personal communication For example employees may use the Personnel Advisory Council or submit letters for publication in the Open Gate or student newspapers to express personal opinions Questions or concerns regarding whether or not specific campus mail meets the criteria as official university business may be directed to the Office of the Dean of Faculty Provost Contact Us E mail mailservices colgate edu Telephone 315 228 7490
