  • Class Materials and Web Links
    materials and web links To view any materials your instructor has posted to your Writing Studio class site click the Materials icon or link These materials show up as a list on the left side of the page and any of the material titles are hyperlinks so clicking on any of the titles will open that item Each item includes a right side options menu that has a link to a print friendly version as well as showing the date it was added to the site and when it was last updated To view the class web links click on the Web Links icon or link Instructors can either add individual links to a long master list or they might create folders for groups of similar links Clicking on a link folder will display a list of all the links in that folder Clicking on an individual link will open that site in a pop up window As mentioned elsewhere you should keep in mind that each class layout and available features will differ depending on how your specific instructor has set up your class For example some class layout designs use icons as links to class features while others

  • Using Class Discussion Forums
    you to that forum s main page where you can post a new message or reply to another user s message On a forum s main page you can select to view all messages last 24 hours last 7 days last 10 days last 20 days last 30 days last 60 days last 90 days last 120 days or last year From the main page of any forum you have the option to create a new message by clicking on the Create Message button This takes you to a page where you can give your post a title by typing it into the subject line and create your post by typing it into the text editor box When you are finished with your post click the Save Message button there is one at the top and one at the bottom of the page to post your message to the discussion forum To reply to another user s discussion forum post click on the subject line of their post to open it To post your reply click the reply button This takes you to a page where you can create your message by typing it into the text editor box On this page you can choose whether or not to Include Original Message in Your Reply the default being yes To change this simply select the no option and push the change button When you are finished with your reply click the Save Message button there is one at the top and one at the bottom of the page to post your reply to the discussion forum Once you have made a new post or reply to the discussion forum you have the option to go back and update or delete any of your posts Click on the title of your

  • Using the Class Email List
    your class main page click on the Email List icon or link This will take you to a page with the email form Here you can select exactly who to send your email to your instructor the entire class or individual students or members of class groups using the drop down menu on the To line The From line is set to use the email address associated with your Writing Studio account You can also send copies of the email to other users if you d like by filling in their addresses in the CC line Just like most other email programs type in your email title in the Subject line and type your message in the text box You can also use the email tool to Send Email to Selected Class Members Simply click on that link on the main email page which will take you to a page where you can select the specific class members to whom you d like to send the email by checking the box next to their names If you d like to include an attachment with your email click the browse button and locate that file When you are finished composing your

  • Viewing and Responding to Class Blogs
    can share any of their blogs with their class Your instructor might even ask you to keep one that is specifically for writing related to the class From the main page of a Writing Studio class site click on the Class Blogs icon or link This will take you to the main Class Blogs page which lists all of the blogs that have been shared with the class To view a specific blog simply click on the title of the blog You can view comment on or print any of the writer s entries to their blog There is an options menu to the right of each entry that allows you to comment on or print the entry and a list of all the blog s Other Entries with the title of each entry functioning as a link to that entry To create a comment select Make a Comment from the options menu This will open a popup window where you can type your comment into the text editor When you are finished simply click the Save Comment button The comments for an entry if there are any show up below it Tweet HELP SITE INDEX ABOUT THIS SITE CONTACT

  • Using the Class Chatroom
    nickname entering your email address is optional select a room or start a new room set the room to public or private set your interface to either Flash or html and select a flash skin To enter the chat room click the Join the Meeting button Once in the chat room you can see to the right a list of users in the room with you selecting the who s in button at the bottom of the page will open a popup window that gives you the same information Clicking on any of the user names will identify the next message you type as being for them Clicking on the to the left of their name will allow you to ignore them and view their chat settings Messages show up in the main center screen Type your messages into the text box along the bottom hit enter on your keyboard and your message appears on the main screen The clear option button on the bottom of the page will clear all messages off the main screen The options button opens up a window where you can set your status to I am away or to focus on new messages There
