    Pre Screening Before you pay for the Admissions process our department will evaluate your eligibility for admission Please refer to the information below before proceeding with the preliminary screening Only persons with bachelor s degrees from accredited colleges or universities are eligible to apply International students must hold degrees equivalent to U S bachelor s degrees and should be among the top students in their classes Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology BSEET degrees are not accepted Please note the department cannot accommodate all applicants who meet minimum requirements for admission and reserves the right to select individuals for admission on the basis of merit and to maximize the potential for individual accomplishments Applications are prescreened and verified by the department year round After we have verified your pre screen data if you are recommended for admission your next step will be to complete an official application with the CSU Graduate School If you choose to proceed with an official application you are welcome to do so at the Graduate School website However you will be required to pay the application fee International Students Additional Requirements TOEFL or IELTS Scores For students with degrees from institutions where the primary language of instruction is not English the TOEFL or IELTS is required If your institution uses any other scale you must convert your GPA to a 4 0 scale using the International Grade Conversion Tool A 4 B 3 C 2 D 1 Applicants must demonstrate a high level of English proficiency Either the TOEFL Test of English as a Foreign Language or IELTS International English Language Testing Service exam is required Applicants from Australia Canada Ireland New Zealand and the United Kingdom whose first language is English are exempt from this requirement Also students that have recently earned a

    worldwide and will continues to play an increasingly important role in developing and sustaining societies into the future whether these societies are here on earth or elsewhere For example in 2013 the American Society of Civil Engineers ASCE assessed a grade of D to the overall condition of our nation s infrastructure e g airports bridges dams energy supply municipal solid and hazardous waste disposal inland waterways levees ports and harbors public parks and recreation railways roadways and other transit systems water supply and wastewater treatment etc and estimated the cost required to improve the infrastructure to a suitable level of functionality and safety at 3 6 trillion by the year 2020 http www infrastructurereportcard org Although this assessment by ASCE paints a bleak picture with respect to the current status of the suitability of our nation s infrastructure the evaluation also represents great opportunities for civil and environmental engineers which is where our Department enters the picture The CEE Department at CSU is recognized both nationally and internationally for education research and service and outreach and is ranked 31 among such programs in the USA The CEE Department consists of 31 tenured and tenure track faculty 15 research scientists scholars 23 research associates and 10 administrative professionals The Department offers undergraduate degrees in both civil engineering and environmental engineering and both the Master of Science M S and Doctor of Philosophy Ph D degrees in civil engineering The Department offers graduate programs at the Master of Engineering M E level both on campus and via CSU s distance education program known as CSU Online The Department currently 2014 15 is educating 421 undergraduate students and 285 graduate students of which 80 are at the Ph D level 155 are at the M S level and 50 are at the

    how to apply visit http jobs colostate edu 80 postings 15791 Environmental Engineer Tenure Track Assistant Professor Position Description The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering CEE in collaboration with the Partnership for Air Quality Climate and Health PACH at Colorado State University CSU invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor position in the area of environmental engineering with a focus on air quality We are seeking an environmental engineer or scientist who specializes in air quality research The focus may be on modeling and or laboratory and field work There is particular interest in applied research that could lead to innovative solutions to air pollution problems both locally and globally The successful applicant s interests should complement existing expertise across CSU The position will support the teaching and research mission of the Environmental Engineering program through his her research program and by developing and teaching courses in air quality and environmental engineering The hire is also expected to participate actively in the development and implementation of research projects launched by PACH of which he she will become a member This latter requirement is consistent with the origination of this position as part of a university wide cluster hire initiative in Air Quality Climate and Health The successful candidate will be expected to 1 develop and maintain an internationally recognized externally funded research program 2 provide intellectual leadership and excellence in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in civil and environmental engineering 3 pursue scholarly activities and 4 serve the academic community and contribute to university outreach The successful candidate will be expected to address interdisciplinary research problems that complement and expand current activities in the CEE Department and to collaborate effectively with other faculty within the Department PACH and across the university For full consideration please submit an application
