  • Meet the Dean - College of Engineering - College of Engineering
    we established a 19 1 undergraduate student faculty ratio At the same time we improved the diversity of our undergraduate student body Since Fall 2007 the number of women among our new freshmen has doubled The number of female students among our total undergraduate population has increased by 63 and the number of Hispanic students our largest underrepresented group increased by 59 We have excellent well prepared undergraduate students Our freshmen come to us with an average high school GPA of 3 8 Graduate Education and Research We developed new graduate programs in bioengineering and systems engineering resulting in growth of our graduate enrollments The College of Engineering s research program has grown substantially In fiscal year 2011 July 1 2010 through June 30 2011 the College expended 63 930 000 for research Our average annual research expenditures per faculty is similar to colleges of engineering ranked in the top ten nationally We currently have 275 000 000 in active contracts and grants The strength of our research program allows us to recruit the best and brightest faculty It results in academic programs at the cutting edge of science and engineering and it provides opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to participate in amazing projects It is my privilege to work with this group of faculty staff and students as we continue this important work David McLean Connect With CSU Give to CSU Attend Engineering Events Stay Connected Engineering Alumni Awards Build Your Workforce Meet Our Alumni Meet Our Faculty Staff Meet Our Students Join the Alumni Association About the College From the Dean College Overview Departments Strategic Plan Fact Book Data Our Newest Building Our Vision The College of Engineering conducts work that is purposeful with regional national and global impacts Our most important responsibility is to provide an

    improving health fighting disease and aiding persons with disabilities Chemical Biological Engineering Chemical and biological engineering s research areas are broken into five main categories polymer science biological engineering mathematical modeling environmental engineering and transport phenomena Civil Environmental Engineering The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering offers a rich and diverse program of coursework and research opportunities from wet areas like hydrology and stream restoration to dry structural and geotechnical engineering Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere CIRA conducts research in the atmospheric sciences of mutual benefit to NOAA Colorado State University the State and the Nation CIRA provides a center for cooperation in research by scientists staff and students and to enhance the training of atmospheric scientists Electrical Computer Engineering Led by dynamic faculty who are internationally recognized in their disciplines the department s research spans these core areas biomedical engineering communications and signal processing computer engineering controls and robotics electromagnetics and remote sensing lasers optics and applications and systems engineering Engineering Science Engineering science students choose from three concentrations and two dual degrees engineering physics space engineering engineering education and the dual degree programs in international engineering and international studies and the liberal arts Mechanical Engineering Faculty
