    fall on the floor past the shooting line as arrows that have been shot retrieve them later Do not walk past the shooting line for any reason until everyone has stepped off the shooting line Check that no one is behind you when you pull your arrows If the string keeps hitting your arm when you shoot let the coach know Courtesy No more than three archers should shoot simultaneously on the same target butt Be careful not to tilt your bow in the way of the archers next to you when nocking an arrow Do not talk to or touch the archers next to you when they are at full draw Wait until the archers next to you have completed their shots before stepping on or off the shooting line Do not shoot more than five arrows per end If you are the last person shooting do not shoot more than one arrow If you are the last person shooting shout clear when you step off the shooting line to indicate that it is safe for everyone to retrieve their arrows Leave your bow on the bow stand when you retrieve your arrows Hold conversations behind the shooting line

    a three week trial period at the beginning of each semester during which you can attend practice for free to see if you re interested Dues from all members are due by the end of the trial period Club dues go toward tournament registration fees team travel expenses and new equipment Q Do I have to attend all the practices or compete in tournaments A No participation in club sports is voluntary and you decide the commitment you want to make We are all busy people so it s not a problem if you can t attend all the practices or compete in tournaments If you want to compete the coach will first have to decide if you re prepared to do so We attend tournaments in the tri state area as well as out of state roadtrips and they re all a lot of fun Obviously if you want to shoot well at tournaments you need to attend practice regularly Otherwise it s just embarassing Q Where else can I shoot in New York City A There are two public shooting ranges in New York City both in Queens Proline Queens Archery Practice Schedule See Calendar Location TBA Mailing

    registration transportation and lodging for tournaments Develop and maintain club website Develop and maintain email listserv Section 2 Eligibility Any active undergraduate member of the club shall be eligible to hold a position on the executive board of the Club Section 3 Elections Members may nominate any returning member for an executive position as long as he she meets the requirements for that position The candidate with the most votes wins the position The executive board will break ties If a position is vacant the executive board may appoint an interim officer to serve until the next election Section 4 Term of Office The newly elected executive board will assume power at the start of the next academic year and will hold that position for the duration of the academic year In the case of a board member not fulfilling duties he she may be impeached by a unanimous vote of the remaining executive board and an interim officer must be appointed Article V Meetings Section 1 Executive Board The executive board will meet once a month to attend to the administrative business of the Club Section 2 General Meetings There will be three general body meetings one at the beginning of the Fall Semester one at the beginning of Spring Semester and the last at the end of the Spring Semester Section 3 Special Meetings Special meetings can be called by the executive board as needed Club members shall be notified by carrier pigeon Article VI Affiliations The Columbia University Archery Club is an Associate Club of the National Archery Association hereinafter referred to as the NAA Article VII Coaching Instruction Section 1 Responsibilities The Recreational Sports Consultant must be knowledgeable about archery and capable of providing instruction to all members regardless of experience level If he she believes that a member is not prepared to compete he she may disallow that member from participating in tournaments until the member has completed a sufficient amount of training Section 2 Compensation The Recreational Sports Consultant will serve as a volunteer to the Club The Club may pay for the Recreational Sports Consultant s registration fees and travel arrangements at tournaments that the team attends The club may also grant the coach a stipend at the end of the year Article IX Club Funds Section 1 Dues Dues shall be in the amount of 35 per semester or 60 per year for full time undergraduate students of Columbia University and its affiliates All other dues shall be in the amount of 45 dues per semester or 80 per year Members are to be given a two week trial period after which they must pay dues in order to continue Dues may be paid by cash or by check made out to Columbia University Section 2 Gifts All cash donations shall be graciously accepted and deposited in the Columbia University Archery Club account Section 3 Expenditures The budget shall be allocated along the following guidelines tournament registration fees transportation and lodging for
