    covering or case for the material and place a barcode on the covering Please allow extra time for processing Personal copies will be returned to you at the end of the term If the library does not currently own an item that you would like placed on reserve we will purchase the item Please submit a request for this material just as you would an item that the library does own Edit link What are in library reserves In Library Reserves are materials that are held at a library s circulation desk or in a designated study room within the library Most libraries offer a choice of loan periods 2 hour loan is standard but the loan period can be adjusted to suit the needs of the class There is no limit on the number of items that may be placed on reserve Typically we will place one copy on reserve for every 20 25 students For textbooks and other materials that the students are required to purchase 1 copy per 50 students If the library does not currently own an item that you would like placed on reserve we will purchase the item Please submit a request for this material just as you would an item that the library does own Edit link What can be placed on electronic reserve Journal articles book chapters syllabi practice exams lecture notes and audio files Print items may be scanned and uploaded as PDF files or linked to if they are available through the Library s licensed databases or if they are open access resources Electronic items must meet copyright Fair Use guidelines or have the permission of the copyright holder for this type of use Readings must be restricted to members of the class and access must be terminated at the

    the course information Don t forget to list the cross listings for your course You are now ready to begin adding items to your course reserve page Edit link Adding items to your reserves list Click on the Add Requests tab you will need to enter each reserve item separately Click on the icon representing the format type of the first item book video etc If you wish to add multiple items at once click the Import Items icon at the end Use a citation manager RefWorks EndNote Mendeley etc to create a list in RIS format and then paste the text file into the box To import items from another reserve list select from the courses displayed under Previous Courses Once you select the item type you will move to a new screen where you will be prompted to enter additional bibliographic information as well as the library location for print materials and the loan period To use the Search and Import feature click the Search the Catalog Import Items button You can import citation information using three methods Search classic catalog Import via ISBN and Import via citation manager Search Classic Catalog will import bibliographic information from the library catalog Enter your search Select the item you want from the results At the bottom of the item display will be a Shortcut link for that item containing a BBID number up to 7 digits Copy the BBID number and paste it into the Item s BBID box at the top left of the Import Record screen Click Import Item Review the citation If there are problems manually edit the information or click the Clear button to start over When all is correct click the Submit Item button The item will appear on your Reserve Requests tab this will
