    For a list of these fees please visit the Tuition and Fees Schedule Students who are eligible for a Cal Vet Tuition Fee Waiver are ineligible for state aid More information can be obtained by contacting your local County Veterans Service Office and or Giselle Young CSUMB VA Benefits Coordinator at giyoung csumb edu International student Non California Resident Fee Waiver At CSU Monterey Bay international F1 Visa undergraduate students and non california resident graduate students are eligible to apply for this waiver after their first year of residence in California This was designed to waive the non resident fee portion at CSUMB The primary purpose of the waiver is to recognize international and non california resident students enrolled at CSU Monterey Bay who display exceptional scholastic achievements and dedication Eligibility Undergraduate Students Enrolled at CSUMB at time of application 12 units minimum Hold an F1 Visa Good academic standing minimum 3 0 GPA Completed one semester or 12 units of college level courses Demonstrate a history of exceptional scholastic performance academic awards honors etc Graduate Students Enrolled at CSUMB at time of application 10 units minimum Good Academic standing minimum 3 0 GPA Completed one semester or 10 units of college level courses Demonstrate a history of exceptional scholastic perfomance academic awards honors etc Employed by the University less than full time but at least twenty hours per week 1 2 Waivers are available per academic year Interested students are required to submit a letter of intent to the Financial Aid Office in person or by U S Postal Mail no later than July 31st of each year Faxes are not accepted Students who were previously selected for a CSUMB this waiver are eligible to reapply The typed letter of intent must include the following Professional aspirations academic and personal achievements history of participation and or leadership in the community Please list your intended or declared major and GPA Attach an unofficial transcript from the most recent institution attended Selection Process The Financial Aid Director will make a final recommendation to the Vice President of Student Affairs Final selection for the waiver will be confirmed in August of each year for the upcoming academic year Finalists will be notified via CSUMB email Alan pattee scholarship act Tuition fee waiver Pursuant to the Alan Pattee Scholarship Act Education Code Section 68120 children of deceased public law enforcement or fire suppression employees who were California residents and who were killed in the course of law enforcement or fire suppression duties are not charged mandatory system wide fees or tuition of any kind at any California State University campus Students who may qualify for these benefits should contact Ashlie McCallon at amccallon csumb edu or 831 582 4077 Graduate research Assistant tuition waiver California State University Executive Order 611 allows campus presidents or their designees to waive the State University Fee for graduate students who are employed as Teaching Associates Class Code 2353 or 2354 or Graduate Assistants Class Code 2355 At

    Step FAFSA Tips Missing Information Receiving your funds Deadlines Financial Aid Glossary CSUMB Home Campus Service Center Financial Aid Types of Aid Emergency Book Loans The Emergency Book Meal Plan Loan Program at CSUMB allows financial aid recipients to use approved financial aid funds in excess of the charges on their student account to purchase books from the CSUMB Bookstore or a Meal Plan before their scheduled disbursement date Students are required to submit an electronic Emergency Book Meal Plan Loan Form Eligibility Requirements The student s total financial aid award amount for the semester must exceed all institutional charges on the student s account including but not limited to tuition fees campus housing and meals Authorization is granted or denied based on a snapshot of the student s account at the time of completion of electronic Emergency Book Meal Plan Loan Form If changes in enrollment or any other circumstances lead to a change in the student s financial aid eligibility the student will become responsible for any outstanding balances that may occur Student must be registered Student must currently meet SAP Policy Student must have completed all steps required for Direct Loan funds if Emergency funds would create a deficit on the student s account Student may only request Emergency Book Meal Plan Loan funds up to 400 during the first week of the semester Opt Out CSUMB is required to make all or a part of a Pell Grant eligible student s anticipated Title IV credit balance available in time for the student to purchase books and supplies by the seventh day of the payment period By not requesting an Emergency Book Meal Plan Loan when eligible a student is voluntarily opting out of this program which grants him or her early access to financial aid funds

    calculated amount attributable to a Title IV loan program may be repaid by the student according to the loan s terms The student s portion of unearned aid attributable to a grant will be reduced The student has 45 days to enter into repayment arrangement with CSUMB or with the U S Department of Education Calculation The portion of financial aid to be returned is determined by the percentage of financial aid not earned by the student The percentage of unearned aid is calculated according to the total Number of Calendar Days in the Semester Not Completed by the Student divided by Total Number of Calendar Days in the Semester During the first 60 of the enrollment period a student earns Title IV funds in direct proportion to the length of time that he or she remains enrolled A student who remains enrolled beyond the 60 point earns all aid for the period A student who withdraws from the University before the 60 period approximately before the 10th week of classes may be required to return all or a portion of the Federal Financial Aid funds The amount to be returned will be based on the formula stated above by calculating the financial aid funds that were used to pay the student s tuition and fees and campus housing obligations as well as the portion directly disbursed to the student Institutional Refund Policy The refund policy requires that students officially drop all classes before the first day of classes for the term to receive full financial credit of their registration fees and tuition if applicable and a full refund less the enrollment confirmation fee As stated above a student who drops all classes on or after the first day of the term up to the 60 percent point of the
