    of Operations Staff Directory Important Phone Numbers Work for Res Life Get Involved Strategies for Parents Guardians Release of student information Mental Health Returning to Campus After an Emergency Resources for Parents Guardians CSUMB Home Campus Life Housing Living Learning Programs Reservation Days Process During Reservation Days you will have the opportunity to reserve a room and retain your room rate lock for the 2016 2017 academic year Room reservations are based on available space STEP 1 SUBMIT AN ONLINE APPLICATION Log into MyHousing and select the Main Campus Housing Application When filling out your application be sure to select your interest in one of the LLPs Project Deep Roots Project Become More Global Perspectives Project Leading Change Log into MyHousing LOGGING INTO MYHOUSING Log into your dashboard from csumb edu In the main navigation box on your Dashboard select MyHousing Once logged in select Applications and continue to select the correct application for the housing area AND term you wish to Apply Follow the on screen Instructions STEP 2 PAY YOUR reservation DEPOSIT Log into CMS and pay the 100 Reservation Days Deposit Pay your Reservation Days Deposit Info on Reservation Deposits Main Campus Pay your 100 00 Reservation Deposit through your CMS account or in person at the Campus Service Center Payments will generally post to your student account within 24 48 hours of the payment date Reservation Deposits are applied to your Fall Housing Payment over the summer Reservation Deposits are refundable if your cancel your Reservation Days assignment 30 days prior to move in For questions regarding the Main Campus Security Deposit please call 831 582 3378 Step 3 confirming roommates Roommates need to be requested and confirmed between February 26 March 4 You can find Roommate Selection on your main MyHousing page under Room Selection Step 4 Selecting a room during your SELECTION time Selection times will be sent to ALL students with complete applications on file February 26 Your selection time will tell you what time you may log on to reserve a space for the upcoming year Complete Applications Complete the 2016 Main Campus Reservation Application in MyHousing Reservation Applications are considered complete once the online application has been submitted and a 100 Reservation Deposit payment has posted to your Student Account CMS You will not be able to participate in the priority Reservation process if you do not have both an online application and 100 Reservation Deposit on file You may pay the Reservation Deposit online through your CMS account or in person at the Campus Service Center Confirmation emails will be sent to students with complete applications each Friday until the application period ends To make sure you get a full refund on your Security Deposit or Reservation Days Deposit make sure you cancel your application by May 31 Meeting Eligibility Whether you intend to fill a suite room or select a space on your own you will need to meet the requirements for the area you intend to reserve in

    A Juniors and Seniors are encouraged to apply for East Campus housing and will be given priority in that area before new students are assigned Q Can Juniors and Seniors reserve on the Main Campus A Since we understand Juniors and Seniors still may have a preference for Main Campus housing we are allowing Junior and Seniors to choose from available spaces on April 19 2016 after the other classes have been given the chance to participate in Reservation Days Seniors who wish to reserve on the Main Campus are not guaranteed a space Q What is Gender Inclusive Housing A Gender Inclusive Housing is a housing option which allows for students of any gender to live together in the same room apartment or suite This option will be available in all campus housing areas However there are separate assignment processes for first year areas and upper division areas due to the difference in how those housing assignments are completed Q I will be taking classes in the Summer Can I use the units I ll earn to become eligible for specific housing areas A No In order to reserve in housing areas like East Campus housing you must meet all the requirements when you select your space for the upcoming year After you become eligible you may request a room transfer once the semester starts Q I missed the deadline to apply and pay the 100 00 Reservation Deposit can I still reserve a space for the upcoming year A No There is no late process for Reservation Days If you miss the application period you will need to reapply for housing as a new student This means we will assign you based on availability Additionally you will lose your rate lock and are not guaranteed an assignment for Fall Q I didn t get the room type I wanted can be added to a waitlist A Although we receive cancellations throughout the summer there usually aren t enough to accommodate waitlist requests There are no waitlists for room types Q How do I get assigned to a space in my current assignment East Campus Only A Complete the reservation day process by submitting your East Campus Reservation day application and paying a 100 reservation deposit by February 19 2016 When completing the application you will be asked if you want to keep your same space If you have already completed an East Campus Reservation day application you will need to revisit the application to complete these questions Student Housing Residential Life will assign students who have indicated same space request Q What happens if I don t request my current space A If you complete the reservation process and do not request to be assigned your current space you will be assigned to a new space Q How do I live with my current roommates in our current assignment A Make sure everybody completes the above process and request and confirms each other through MyHousing Note only a

    Cancel Housing TV Services Laundry Alert Mail Packages Safety Tips Check out East Campus Guest Registration Contact an RA Hours of Operations Staff Directory Important Phone Numbers Work for Res Life Get Involved Strategies for Parents Guardians Release of student information Mental Health Returning to Campus After an Emergency Resources for Parents Guardians CSUMB Home Campus Life Housing Current Residents Check out Damages Refunds If we find damages to your room you are held responsible We handle damages in two different ways If you take responsibility for the charges we will determine a cost and charge your student account If you do not take responsibility and have a roommate we will ask the roommate about the damage If neither of you take responsibility for the damage we will split the charges equally If you claim a friend is responsible you will need to have them contact the community director of your building and submit a letter claiming responsibility for the damages However if they are not a resident whose student account can be charged you assume responsibility for any damages your guests may cause If you choose to appeal damage charges please make sure you have substantial documentation proving that you are not responsible for the charges You will submit your letter or appeal and any documentation to the community director of your area The community director will review your file and if necessary any previous Room Condition Inventory reports depending on the damage Once this is complete they will make their decision and notify you via email at the earliest possible time Understand the Community Directors do have up to ten business days to respond to any appeals Appeals to damages must be made within 30 days of charges being posted to your student account If you wish you
