    number to locate Course Reserves for a particular class Computers Laptops and iPads View All Learning Commons services Desktop Computers The Oviatt Library provides access to computers throughout the building in support of research and learning at California State University Northridge Most workstations are restricted to current CSUN student faculty and staff Visitor stations are located in the core area near the escalators on the second third and fourth floors However priority is given to students faculty staff and those using U S and California Government Depository materials when there are no other work stations available Study Rooms and Lockers The Oviatt offers both Individual and Group Study Rooms for CSUN students to use Individual study rooms are located on the 2nd 3rd and 4th floors Those located along the south wall of the building are available on a first come first serve basis Those along the north side of the wall on the 2nd and 3rd floors must be reserved using our online reservation system Group study rooms are located in the Learning Commons on the main floor as well as floors 2 3 and floor These study rooms must be reserved using our online reservation system http csun libcal com Oviatt Library Services for Distance Education Students The Oviatt Library provides services for students who are designated by the Roland Tseng College of Extended Learning as distance students or distance learners To qualify for distance learner library services students must be admitted to and enrolled in a Roland Tseng College of Extended Learning degree granting program that is offered online or at a location other than the Northridge campus These programs usually organize students into cohort groups Information for CSUN Parents Students can access the Library s online resources remotely That means they can find information from more

    of 5 times See Faculty Borrowing Privileges for circulation policies applying to CSUN faculty Friends Alumni visitors and other courtesy card holders may have 10 items checked out at one time Each item may be renewed once Reserve Materials Course Reserve materials may be checked out at the following locations as determined by the instructor Reserves Periodicals and Microforms desk fourth floor east Music Media second floor east Teacher Curriculum Center garden level east Reserve materials can only be renewed in person at the location where they were checked out Interlibrary Loan Materials Items requested through Interlibrary Loan may be picked up and checked out at the Interlibrary Loan Office Room 109 When the office is closed materials may be picked up at the Guest Services desk Interlibrary Loan materials may or may not be renewable See the Interlibrary Loan FAQ page for more information Renewing Materials You can renew circulating library owned materials four ways Log in to your Library Record to renew online Email a renewal request using our online renewal form Renew items by phone by calling 818 677 4745 available 24 hours a day Bring items to the Guest Services desk during regular library hours Two week loan items may only be renewed within 5 days of the due date Once you have renewed an item the maximum number of times you must return it Overdue books and books on hold for other users cannot be renewed Search Hold requests A request to search for and or put a hold on Library materials may be placed through the online catalog or at the Guest Services desk After receipt of the item s a notification will be sent to you and the located recalled item s will be held for you for one week Not all Library

    Specialists Search Course Reserves Submit Reserve Materials for faculty How to put materials on reserve Copyright information Questions Email Course Reserves Search by course number e g ENGL 101 OR Search by instructor Lastname initial e g Smith or Jones B How to access reserve materials Use the searchbox on this page to locate your materials by course number or by instructor name The location of your item will be listed in the Call column You must bring your current CSUN ID to the specified location in order to check out reserve materials Most reserve materials are available for a limited loan period Check the loan period column for the amount of time you may borrow an item Click here for Class Search To access electronic reserves Titles available electronically will have ELECTRONIC COPY AVAILABLE in the Format column Click the TITLE of the item Click Access Electronic Reserve Item if prompted Type in either your CSUN User ID and password same as your portal log in or your name and barcode number from your CSUN ID Enter the course password supplied by your instructor Read the Terms of Use agreement and then check the agreement box Once authentication occurs the PDF document will open in Adobe Reader You can download Adobe Reader for free If you have any issues viewing accessing or downloading electronic reserves contact the Reserves Periodicals and Microform department at 818 677 3282 or email Course Reserves Print materials and media may be on reserve at Reserves Periodicals Microform RPM on the fourth floor east wing most textbooks and class materials Teacher Curriculum Center TCC in the library s lower level Juvenile collection instructional materials etc Music Media M M on the second floor east wing Music related class reserves CDs DVDs etc Services Services Overview
