    Expressed Interest Pre Major and Impaction Pre Major and Expressed Interest Definition Policy Expressed Interest A designation for undergraduate students interested in pursuing an impacted major but who may not declare or be assigned by the department program of their intended major upon admission to the university These students must successfully complete any specified pre requisites and a supplemental admissions process in order to be formally admitted to the major program Pre Major A designation for undergraduate students pursuing a non impacted major These students may declare or be assigned major status upon admission to the university or by the department program of their intended major after completing specified pre requisites as defined by their academic department program Major Impaction The number of applications from fully eligible students to a designated major during the initial filing period far exceeds the number of spaces available in that major However students can still be admitted in an alternate major or they may eventually be admitted to the oversubscribed major if they meet the supplementary admission criteria Sacramento State Designated Impacted Programs Impacted Major Requirements Unit Recommendation for Fasttrack2grad yes the shortcut to graduation Graduate in two years after transferring to Sac State Transfer students should be enrolling in a 15 unit course load per semester to graduate on time See the semester recommendations below to keep you on track for graduation Writing Placement for Juniors After transferring to Sac State students will need to complete the Writing Placement for Juniors WPJ to enroll in an upper division Writing Intensive course that is needed for graduation Base on student scores on the WPJ students will be able to understand what course is needed to fulfill their graduation requirement See below for a quick guide After WPJ Exam Score between 80 on WPJ Exam Eligible to enroll in upper division Writing Intensive course After WPJ Exam Score between 70 71 on WPJ Exam Eligble to enroll in an upper division Writing Intensive course and must enroll in English 109X in the same semester you enroll in your upper division Writing Intensive course After WPJ Exam Scores between 50 60 on WPJ Exam Must enroll in English 109M 109W before students are eligible to enroll in an upper division Writing Intensive course For Frequently Asked Questions about the WPJ visit http www al csus edu writing gewritingrequirements gwarFaqs php q201 Evaluation of Transferred Units An official review and evaluation of your transcripts takes one to two semesters to complete Once completed you can check your approved transfer credits on your My Sac State account through the drop down box titled Transfer Credit Report as well as on your Academic Requirements page If you do not see your transferred units after two semesters or you do not feel they have been transferred correctly please stop by the Academic Advising Center to have an advisor review your account with you thoroughly Residency Units More information regarding the Transcript Evaluation Process You must earn a minimum of 120

    reinstatement are eligible to apply for Readmission after Dismissal for Spring terms petitions for Spring 2017 Readmission after Dismissal will be available on this website August 1 2016 Disqualified Students Students who have been academically disqualified must apply for Reinstatement after Disqualification to be considered for future enrollment Students who have not been enrolled at Sac State for two or more semesters must re apply for admission Sac State is an impacted campus so students who need to re apply for admission must have 60 semester units Junior and completed lower division General Education GE requirements for transfer to include Areas A1 A2 A3 and B4 Students applying for Reinstatement after Disqualification must have all units and GE requirements Areas A1 A2 A3 and B4 completed by the end of Spring 2016 in order to be eligible for Fall 2016 reinstatement summer course work will not be used to determine eligibility Dismissed Students Students who have been previously dismissed from Sac State must apply for Readmission after Dismissal in order to be considered for future enrollment Academically dismissed students must sit out at least one semester before being eligible for reinstatement students who have been dismissed twice must sit out two years before being eligible to petition In order to be eligible for Readmission after Dismissal to Spring 2017 students must have successfully completed GE Areas A1 Oral Communication A2 Written Communication A3 Critical Thinking and B4 Quantitative Reasoning with minimum C grades Additionally students applying for Readmission after Dismissal must have at least 60 semester units completed in order to be eligible All requirements must be completed by Summer 2016 in order to be eligible for Spring 2017 readmission Any student who has not been enrolled at Sac State for two or more semesters will need to re apply

    Us Strategic Planning and Assessment Academic Advising Strategic Plan 2014 2020 Mission Statement The Academic Advising Center offers current students advising on General Education and Graduation Requirements The Center engages students in a developmental process that helps clarify and implement individual educational plans consistent with their skills interests and values Through individual appointments group advising sessions and presentations the professional staff faculty advisors and student interns help students understand the University s academic requirements policies and procedures Strategies and Assessment Goal 1 Enhance Student Learning Success Strategies and Indicator of Achievement 75 of FYA students will agree or strongly agree that they left their advising session feeling CONFIDENT in regard to their GR GE requirements Partner with the Peer and Academic Resource Center PARC to increase academic performance as measured by term GPA for Second Year Success SYS students who take a new supplemental instruction course offered through PARC This initiative will begin in Fall 2015 and student academic performance will be measured at the end of each semester for evaluation at the end of the 2015 16 academic year Fall 2015 First cohort of SYS students 12 enrolled in a Supplemental Instruction SI course ALS 96 Academic Strategies Goal 5 Engage Students in a Comprehensive University Experience Strategies and Indicators of Achievement Increase the percentage of first year experience students to attend at least one First Year Experience FYE designated event by 5 each semester through 2020 Using the Fall 2014 percentage 61 and the Spring 2014 percentage 63 as semester baselines Increase visibility and understanding of the Advising Center s programs and services for students who are not mandated to come into the center e g new transfer students The goal is to increase the number of non mandate students who access the center and their satisfaction with
