    education has helped her write two legislative bills and implement them into the education system Aside from education Kastanis is involved with the Greek Orthodox Church Mamie Mierzwak 85 Mathematics VP of Administration VP of Finance Life Member Mamie Mierzwak is the retail services supervisor of residential programs for Roseville Electric Her background with MCI WorldCom NetStream and the City of Roseville have provided for oversight and management of employees and projects keeping them moving forward within budget and time frame Her position with Roseville Electric manages the programs responsible for public benefit in the areas of energy efficiency renewable resources assistance for low income residents customer complaints and outage response Marco Rodriguez 91 Business Administration Imediate Past President Life Member Marco Rodriguez is a managing director and senior financial representative with Principal Financial Group He serves in a number of volunteer capacities including appointee to the State Independent Living Council by Governor Brown board president for the Mexican Cultural Center of Northern California current member of American Leadership Forum and past chairman of the board for the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce During his student tenure with Sacramento State he was a board member with Epsilon Sigma Rho the Latin Business Student Association and the Chicano Latino Graduation Committee 2015 16 Board of Directors Rob Allen 91 Business Administration Life Member Rob Allen s collective background of sales marketing and program development lend to his success as an insurance agent and broker His combined 17 year portfolio has involved surgical sales financial services event planning and leadership initiatives Staying involved with his fraternity Lambda Chi Alpha and being an active member of the 20 30 Club have kept Allen grounded in his volunteer efforts while at the same time bringing him in contact with hundreds of people each year Fred Baldini 82 MA 85 Physical Education Life Member Fred Baldini is entering his 27th year as a member of the faculty at Sacramento State He was appointed Dean of the College of Health and Human Services in July 2010 Prior to that appointment he served as the Interim Associate Dean for seven months and he served nine plus years as the Chair of the Department of Kinesiology and Health Science Baldini serves on the Sacramento Family Justice Center s Service Subcommittee he is a mentor with the Sacramento State Guardian Scholars Program and he is the chair of the University Budget Advisory Committee Ron Brown 86 Construction Management Life Member Ron Brown grew up in the construction industry with his father Bill Brown who founded Brown Construction While obtaining his degree from Sac State he continued working at job sites After college Ron went to work for a national commercial contractor gaining years of experience with complex commercial projects In 1988 he returned to Brown Construction to help the company diversify and eventually take over leadership In addition Ron is very active in the community with various Boards and mentors Sac State Construction Management students Joan Carnago 97 Business Administration Life Member Joan Carnago has a strong background in the construction industry managing projects predominately in the health care and education sectors For the past 16 years she has had oversight on million dollar projects provided management and expanded departments Most recently while with Airco Mechanical she led and expanded their safety department Carnago is an active member of the Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors Sacramento Regional Builders Exchange American Society of Professional Estimators and the St Elizabeth Ann Seton Parent Booster Club Larry Gilmore 85 Business Administration Life Member Larry Gilmore has an entrepreneurial mindset which comes from many years experience creating organic and inorganic growth in organizations both in the USA and abroad After earning his degree at Sac State he earned a MA in International Education from USC and a Master of Agribusiness Management from Kansas State He s spent over six years living and working in China in the effort to develop its infrastructure to propel and sustain its economic growth trajectory which includes taking Yongye International NASDAQ YONG public and raising over 100M in private and public equity between 2008 and 2010 He was the Entrepreneur in Residence for CrowdFlavor Corporation from 2010 to 2014 and then took on the role of Senior Director at VSP Global working with a team of professionals who provide internal boutique investment services to VSP s five lines of business Lois Harper Mattice 87 MS 94 Physical Education Life Member Lois Harper Mattice is the associate athletics director for internal affairs senior woman administrator for Sacramento State s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics Harper Mattice is also a licensed physical therapy assistant and a 25 year member of the National Athletic Trainers Association She has supervised men s and women s soccer gymnastics softball and sports medicine From 2008 12 Harper Mattice served on the NCAA Competitive Safeguards and Medical Aspects of Sports committee helping to create safe and healthy competitive experiences for student athletes Alyson Iwamura 02 Biological Sciences MBA 13 Life Member Alyson Iwamura received both her science and business training from Sac State Both have served her well as an internship opportunity with Sutter Institute for Medical Research has turned into her career In addition to research work Alyson s role has expanded to managing the labs and projects Beyond her professional experience Alyson is active in the community and sits on the SARTA MedStart Advisory Board Sharon Sanders Krause 88 Communication Studies MS 09 Counseling Life Member Sharon Sanders Krause is a career counselor with Sacramento Employment and Training Agency Building on a 20 year career as an independent contractor Saunders Krause joined forces with her husband to build Capitol Utility Specialist Inc Despite essentially working two jobs she spends time volunteering at St Johns Shelter for Women and Children Folsom Lake College THINK committee and Oakhills Community Church Amanda Merz 12 English Annual Member Amanda Merz currently works as a financial literacy coordinator for SAFE Credit Union s community banking department She focuses

    Information New Chapter Chapter Leaders Chapter Events Volunteer Opportunities Alumni Profiles Stay Connected General Information Volunteer Opportunities Alumni Events Sac State Connection Sac State Magazine Class Notes Update Your Record For Students General Information Student Alumni Association Grad Fest Scholarships Scholarships Apply Online Dance Marathon Thank A Thon Class Gift Committees The Alumni Association provides opportunities for alumni to volunteer on one of its many committees If you are interested in becoming involved in Association leadership committee participation is an excellent start Below is a description of our current committees To sign up for a committee please contact the Alumni Association at 916 278 6295 or alumni csus edu Chapter Alumni Development Committee The Chapters and Alumni Development Committee seeks to build strong chapters and engage alumni in a meaningful way The Committee evaluates existing programs and creates new programs that will help grow and maintain the Alumni Association membership base The Committee is also responsible for oversight of all major events undertaken by the Association including Homecoming Alumni Month and the Distinguished Alumni Awards Open to Association members at large Membership Fund Development Committee The Membership and Fund Development Committee works to build a strong membership program and ensure funding for Alumni Association activities from non membership sources such as affinity programs and sponsorships The Committee evaluates existing programs new program proposals and make recommendations that will stabilize funding for the Association The Committee also is responsible for oversight of membership marketing efforts and participation in sponsorship solicitation Open to Association members at large Scholarship Committee The Scholarship Committee is responsible for overseeing the annual Alumni Scholarship program The Committee reviews plans for seeking applications establishes selection criteria evaluates applications and selects recipients for the available scholarships The Committee also is responsible for increasing the funds available for scholarships
