    to support planning and budgeting assessment accreditation policy formation and decision making Following are the basic functions of Office of Institutional Research 1 Data Collection and Management We collect preserve edit analyze and interpret significant and meaningful information We are charged with the development and maintenance of an integrated database that incorporates University data from multiple sources including a campus wide electronic database surveys of students faculty and staff information and national databases 2 Data Restructure and Reporting We are responsible for the design and production of routine and ad hoc reports for internal constituencies as well as for federal state CSU system and external agencies By using appropriate statistical and deterministic procedures we generate sophisticated reports to meet the various needs of the campus community 3 Special Research and Policy Analyses We design and conduct special research and policy analyses to support planning budgeting assessment and accreditation The results of our research expand the understanding of the university identify the problems enhance a data driven culture and stimulate changes within the University Our web site includes the following sections Data Center The Data Center houses aggregate census data that OIR collects and assembles throughout the year which includes the following University Dashboard Quick Facts University Fact Book Departmental Fact Book Student data Special Reports Faculty data Special Reports and the Common Data Set Additionally there are five years worth of historical data available within the Fact Books as well as data by term in the Special Reports Assessment This section includes Accreditation and Assessment The first segment contains historical reports associated with WASC accreditation as well as a link to the current WASC website The second part displays annual assessment reports for Learning Communities Freshman Seminar and Equity Programs Links to the newly developed website for the College Portrait

    for locating and scheduling facilities for classes final exams and events is scheduled for an upgrade during spring break More Upgrade to the Financial System April 17th 24th System will be down during this time Like all CSU campuses Sacramento State utilizes the CSU system wide PeopleSoft Common Financial system CFS for financial business processes like Procurement and Travel Reimbursement More Emergency Critical Messaging Test Classroom Phones On March 7th there will be an Emergency Critical Notification test Public Affairs will be communicating information about the test and also information to the campus on how faculty can opt in to receive text and phone messages in the event of an emergency More IT Update January 2014 The Newly Renovated Student Technology Center Collaborating with faculty to teach students the technology needed for success in their coursework Students can stumble in courses because they don t know how to use the software or technology needed for assignments There is a solution More Classroom Support We re excited to announce that twelve additional university classrooms were upgraded over the semester break to include Intermediate Smart Technology You can find a list that includes a description and pictures of these newly improved classrooms here In addition the campus is planning further classroom improvements over the coming summer that will include 1 As many as twenty additional Intermediate Smart Classrooms 2 a pilot project to demonstrate collaborative technology and seating in a seminar room 3 Addition of student self study areas and 4 the creation of a badly needed larger Advanced Smart Classroom Keep in mind that IRT s Classroom Services group provides long term and just in time support to all faculty in campus wide classrooms and university computer labs To reach Classroom Services just call 916 278 7337 and choose Option 1
