    of these guidelines February 1 2016 Spring 2016 Fall 2016 Spring 2017 We will develop implement and assess Learning Outcomes for Service Learning Convene brainstorming sessions with current CEC faculty to discuss identifiable learning outcomes that can be shared across SL courses Develop at least two learning outcomes to be used on all service learning courses Pilot SL outcomes with 10 faculty Assess SL outcomes with pilot faculty Based on assessment revise SL outcomes as needed All faculty teaching SL courses will include SL outcomes on their syllabi Fall 2015 Spring 2016 Fall 2016 Spring 2016 Summer 2016 Fall 2017 Celebrate CEC s 20 th Anniversary Plan and implement activities throughout 2016 beginning with a celebration event in May 20 years and 20 million in contributions to the Sacramento Region Throughout 2015 2016 Maintain National Honor Roll Status Track service on campus and complete paperwork for being on the National Honor Roll Begin Fall 2015 ongoing Offer Faculty Learning Communities FLC to teach faculty how to incorporate Service Learning into their courses Assess and revise FLC syllabus and course outline from 2014 2015 Submit FLC proposal to Center for Teaching and Learning Participate in New Faculty orientation in August to recruit faculty for our FLC Identify 6 8 participants and begin FLC Complete FLC Summer 2015 Summer 2015 August 2015 October 2015 May 2016 Advisory Committee work to include identifying ways to reach out to community partners and keep them up to date about CEC activities Identify and recruit 12 15 community partners with whom we work to participate in an Advisory Committee Convene Advisory Committee quarterly Fall 2015 Begin Spring 2016 Reestablish CEC newsletter CEC staff will take the lead on developing a CEC newsletter to be distributed to campus and community Begin Fall 2015 2 Continue to develop CEC Infrastructure to strengthen both internal campus and external community relationships and partnerships Develop refine and maintain CECconnect Weekly meetings with University IRT and CEC staff Develop paperwork and systems that are easily accessible by faculty students and community partners Develop community partner and faculty profiles that help us more easily create matches between them Work with Registrar s Office to analyze the use of the check box in My Sac State as a way of tracking faculty who self identify as doing Service Learning Train faculty and students on CECconnect Assess first year of full use of CEC connect Train Community Partners on CECconnect Summer 2015 ongoing Summer 2015 ongoing Summer 2016 Beginning January 2016 Review and revise Partnership Agreements that can be used for both Service Learning and Internships Convene meetings with Procurement Contracts Risk Management and Career Center Work with Senate Chair and Executive Committee to draft Internship Policy that allows for overlap in a Partnership Agreement between Service Learning and Internships Continuing from Spring 2015 ongoing 3 Engage in work that results in Sac State being known as an Engaged Campus through Service Learning Community Service Internships Facilitate promote and sustain a campus culture of Engagement

    where runners walkers are dusted with different colored powders as they progress to the finish line though volunteers may end up wearing more color than the racers Sacramento s Color Run helped raise funds for the non profit organization Girls on the Run Thursday July 18 2013 Mobile Food Distribution Sac State volunteers supported Sacramento Food Bank Family Services Mobile Food Distribution event helping with event set up cleanup unloading the truck and bagging and handing out food In total food was provided to 177 families equaling up to 830 individuals Saturday June 1 2013 Street Fair Volunteers helped with set up booths and activities and refreshment stations for the North Sacramento Family Resource Center s 11th Annual Uptown Street Fair to provide families with a free fun way to learn about health safety and preventative community resources Saturday May 18 2013 Farms Friends Go Green 13 Sac State volunteers supported Fairytale Town s Farms Friends go Green event Volunteers helped with event set up cleanup staffed activities including arts and crafts greeted and directed guests and served as the mascot for this magical day celebrating agriculture and the environment Saturday April 6 2013 Chili Festival Sacramento Artists Council s Beer and Chili Festival raised funds to help keep art and music in public schools Volunteers helped set up and staffed the bicycle valet kid s zone participant admissions and served chili Saturday February 2 2013 Discovery Museum Day 66 Sac State volunteers supported this biggest museum event of the year Volunteers directed guests and parking set up and monitored exhibits assisted with presentations staffed tables and more for a combined 317 hours of service Saturday October 27 2012 Horse Rescue Volunteers moved fences built corrals and did some heavy lifting to help a fully volunteer supported non profit organization All About Equine Animal Rescue Two miniature horses were even able to use their new round exercise pen before we left Saturday Agust 4 2012 Color Run The Color Run is a 5K course where runners walkers are dusted with different colors as they progress to the finish line While Color Runs take place all over the country each one benefits a local charity Sacramento s Color Run raised funds for the non profit organization Girls on the Run Saturday June 23 2012 Chef Challenge During the 10th Annual Sacramento Chef Challenge professional chefs competed head to head in a live culinary competition and guests sampled from over 100 local restaurants wineries and breweries Volunteers helped set up support vendors sell tickets and more for this fundraising event benefitting INALLIANCE a non profit providing services to adults with disabilities Sunday May 20 2012 Day on the Farm Volunteers supported Soil Born Farm s annual harvest kick off and community celebration featuring a farm stand cooking classes tours and nature walks entertainment hands on activities and community education tables Volunteers checked in bikes and strollers at the valet section directed patrons to the event and parking and supervised children who participated

    is Cooper Woodson College The Cooper Woodson College Enhancement Program CWC is an association of faculty staff students and community members who are committed to recognizing and upholding the tradition represented in African American culture that is best expressed in relationships between traditional African American colleges and students It involves adults in the community assuming responsibility for shaping and guiding a learning environment supportive of responsive to and nurturing of CWC students The Cooper Woodson College Enhancement Program and Pan African Studies work collaboratively A certificate in Pan African Studies is available through the Ethnic Studies Department Students enrolled in the Cooper Woodson College Enhancement Program are eligible for the certificate The Director of Pan African Studies certifies those graduates of the Cooper Woodson College Enhancement Program who are eligible for the certificate Total units required for the Pan African Studies Certificate are 24 Philosophy The Cooper Woodson College is founded upon the belief illustrated through the lives and deeds of Drs Anna J Cooper and Carter G Woodson CWC challenges its scholars with both practical and theoretical learning experiences These theoretical and practical learning experiences are based upon African and African American cultural experiences and traditions Students should be
