    any other temporary disability The university can require a pregnant student to provide a doctor s certification of fitness to continue in an education program or activity only if the same requirement is imposed on all other students with physical or emotional conditions requiring a doctor s care Pregnant students must be provided the same accommodations and support services available to other students with similar medical needs Your professors or administrators should not tell you that you have to drop out of your classes or academic program or change your educational plans due to your pregnancy Do my professors have to excuse my absences due to pregnancy childbirth or abortion Absences due to pregnancy childbirth or related medical conditions must be excused and cannot be treated or penalized like unexcused absences Your professors must provide you a leave of absence for as long as it is deemed necessary by your medical doctor At the end of your leave you must be reinstated to the status you held prior to your leave After returning from an excused absence your professors must allow a reasonable amount of time to make up missed assignments and tests The makeup assignments and tests must be reasonably equivalent to those missed but need not be identical If a professor provides specific points or other advantages to students based on class attendance you must be given the opportunity to earn back the credit from classes missed due to pregnancy Under Title IX pregnant students are entitled to the same benefits offered to students with other medical conditions illness or injury What if my professor says his absence makeup policy applies regardless of any medical condition While your professor may have a strict attendance policy the university is bound by federal civil rights law Title IX requires the

    is mandated by Federal State law and or CSU Executive Orders The required compliance training courses are outlined in Sections I and II See Section III for information on how to access these training courses in Skillport I NEW COURSES CSU Preventing Discrimination and Harassment for Non Supervisors CSU Executive Order 1095 requires that all new employees complete anti discrimination and harassment training within six months of their initial hiring All existing non supervisory employees must complete anti discrimination and harassment training on or before June 23 2016 and on an annual basis thereafter CSU Preventing Discrimination and Harassment for Non Supervisors satisfies this training requirement EDU Eliminate Campus Sexual Violence CSU CSU Executive Order 1095 and current law require that all new employees complete sexual violence awareness and prevention training within six months of their initial hiring All existing employees must complete sexual violence awareness and prevention training on or before June 23 2016 and on an annual basis thereafter EDU Eliminate Campus Sexual Violence CSU satisfies this training requirement II EXISTING COURSES SUPERVISERS ONLY EDU Supervisor Anti Harassment Discrimination Retaliation CA 13 H State law California Government Code Section 12950 1 requires The CSU to provide two hours of sexual harassment training to all supervisory employees every two years and to all new supervisory employees within six months of assuming a supervisory position EDU Supervisor Anti Harassment Discrimination Retaliation CA 13 H satisfies this training requirement The CSU defined supervisory employees required to take this training in HR Letter 2005 35 https csyou calstate edu Policies Policies HR2005 35 pdf EDU Mandated Reporter NOTE ALTHOUGH THIS COURSE IS ONLY MANDATORY FOR CERTAIN EMPLOYEES ALL EMPLOYEES ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO TAKE THE TRAINING CSU Executive Order 1083 and current Federal State law require that all CSU employees report suspected
