    a whistle and be ready to use it Whistles are available at UPD If you are out after dark use only well lit routes Make use of S T A N S afety T ransport A t N ight Travel in groups when possible Look confident when you walk Make eye contact with passersby and keep a firm grip on your property Walk near the curb and avoid passing close to shrubs dark doorways and other hiding places Carry your keys in your hand so you can quickly get in your car or home Carry a cell phone If you suspect trouble leave the area immediately In the Office Lock unoccupied rooms and offices even if you leave for only a few minutes Use password protection on your computer settings In the office store money and stamps in a cash box and keep it in a locked cabinet Keep an inventory including serial numbers of University and personal property kept in the office Never loan equipment or keys to strangers or unknown workers Request identification and authorization from repairpersons seeking to remove office equipment for any reason Keep and up to date record of equipment out for repair or on loan Keep an accurate key control log and recover keys from staff or students who no longer need them Report stolen or lost keys to the UPD In the Car Keep windows rolled up and doors locked Keep possessions out of sight in the trunk Always remove your keys from the vehicle and lock all doors Check around and inside your car BEFORE you get in Make sure your car runs well and has plenty of gas Never pick up strangers and never go with a stranger who offers help Instead ask them to call for help for you Park

    days e g Spring Break and University recognized holidays If you fear for your safety at ANY TIME you may request an officer to provide a safety escort by calling 667 3114 Two 7 passenger gas carts are currently operating as our shuttles We are excited to announce that UPD applied for and received a grant through the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District to help cover the cost of four 15 passenger electric shuttles The new carts will be easily identifiable as a shuttle bright yellow and be far better for the environment We anticipate their arrival soon check back here for updates Disability Resource Services provides transportation for students with disabilities They are located in MSR 210 and can be reached at 667 3159 Motorist Assistance Car battery dead Locked your keys in your car perhaps If you are parked on campus wait by your vehicle and give UPD a call at 667 3114 We can help and it s free We will need to know where your vehicle is parked along with the make model color and license plate of your vehicle Lost Found To check with lost and found or report a lost item give UPD a call at 667 3114 during business hours Found property is retained for six months Unclaimed property is donated to a local organization Dispatch Services UPD Dispatch Communication Center is staffed with P O S T certified police dispatchers as required by the State of California and student assistants who assist with reception phones and more In an emergency always dial 9 1 1 not 667 3114 to guarantee the line will be answered by a dispatcher with police radio access to expedite response time California State University Stanislaus One University Circle Turlock California 95382 Maps Directions Contact Us

    and celebration are required Stanislaus State also strives to teach incorporate mediate and promote issues of diversity that go beyond the surface In the News In recognition of Filipino American History Month 1 October 2015 For the first time in California history Filipino American labor leader Larry Itliong will be recognized on an annual day honoring the late hero throughout the state 2 Though not a name immediately associated with the farm labor movement of the 1960s in California Itliong was the one who led Cesar Chavez to the picket lines that cemented Chavez place in the history books Unlike the image many remember of Chavez Itliong sported a crew cut chewed cigars loved to gamble and because of a work injury in an Alaskan cannery bore the nickname Seven Fingers A Union City school is getting a new name and it s making history On Friday Alvarado Middle School will officially be renamed Itliong Vera Cruz Middle School 3 The name change will make the school located on Alvarado Boulevard the first in the country to be named in honor of Filipino Americans California State University Stanislaus One University Circle Turlock California 95382 Maps Directions Contact Us Resources Career
