    Academics Admissions Athletics Campus Life Giving You are here Home University News News Briefs Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Set for Homecoming Weekend Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Set for Homecoming Weekend The Warrior Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2016 will be inducted on Saturday Feb 6 as part of Homecoming Week at Stanislaus State The team will be honored at a luncheon that afternoon and introduced to the crowd at halftime of the men s basketball game that night against Cal State East Bay This year s class honors multiple generations of Warriors all of whom gave historic performances during their time at Stan State The 1982 men s basketball team which reached the NCAA Division III Final Four will be honored for a season in which they finished second in the Far West Conference and won three home court games to reach the Final Four The other inductees all are entering the Hall of Fame as individuals Meghan Franksen Breeze was a four time all conference shortstop who led Stanislaus State to the 2007 Division II West Region championship Marc Lawless was a two time All American golfer who led the Warriors to the 2001 conference title and two top three finishes in the NCAA Tournament Martha Moran coached two sports and was physical education chairman from 1973 95 Joel Stallworth was a three time All American in track who won six conference titles and still holds three Stanislaus sprint records George While played basketball at Stan State for only one season 1968 69 but holds the single season scoring record with 805 points including a 53 point effort against Valley State now Cal State Northridge Tickets for the Feb 6 induction ceremony are 40 per person For more information on the Athletics Hall of Fame and

    Donors Community About Academics Admissions Athletics Campus Life Giving You are here Home University News News Briefs Warriors Earn 29 Spots on CCAA Fall All Academic Teams Warriors Earn 29 Spots on CCAA Fall All Academic Teams January 12 2016 Stanislaus State student athletes continue to excel in both the classroom and their respective sports In addition to the University placing all fall semester team sports in postseason play for the first time as a member of the California Collegiate Athletic Association 29 Warriors were named to all academic teams Stanislaus ranked behind only Cal State San Marcos among the 13 CCAA member schools in the number of individuals it placed on the all academic team San Marcos the newest CCAA member had 35 In all the conference recognized 287 student athletes in volleyball men s and women s cross country and men s and women s soccer Women s soccer led all Stanislaus programs by placing 11 players on the list To be named to the CCAA all academic team the student athletes must have competed in a conference sponsored sport as a sophomore or higher in athletic standing and have a cumulative GPA of at least 3 3

    Stockton Center MyCSUSTAN Students Parents Faculty Staff Alumni Donors Community About Academics Admissions Athletics Campus Life Giving You are here Home University News News Briefs Warriors Garner National Attention for Anti Bullying Effort Warriors Garner National Attention for Anti Bullying Effort January 12 2016 Stanislaus State through the work of its Student Athlete Advisory Committee has been named a finalist for the 2016 NCAA Division II Award of Excellence an honor that recognizes the positive impact student athletes can have on their communities In all 22 universities and three conferences were named as finalists On Jan 16 a winner and two other programs will be honored at the 2016 NCAA Convention in San Antonio The winner will receive 1 500 and will have a football or basketball game nationally televised during the 2016 17 school year The first runner up will receive 1 250 and the second runner up will receive 1 000 All finalists receive 500 to be used for future community engagement initiatives The Warriors SAAC conducted a series of anti bullying assemblies at Turlock elementary schools and with the guidance of marketing and sponsorships assistant Amanda Rosas also produced a public service announcement video titled Bullying Stops

    Directory Maps Library Stockton Center MyCSUSTAN Students Parents Faculty Staff Alumni Donors Community About Academics Admissions Athletics Campus Life Giving You are here Home University News News Briefs Warriors Together Toy Drive a Success Warriors Together Toy Drive a Success The 10th annual Warriors Together Toy Drive capped another successful season with the collection of 700 items to be distributed during the holiday season to kids in Turlock This was the third year the University s Program for Academic Career Excellence PACE through a Service Learning program has overseen the campus toy collection which feeds into the Turlock Together project It s important because it s one of the few programs in which we get participation from positively everyone staff faculty students and retirees said Lori Cole PACE program specialist It definitely is a morale booster and I think it has that effect on everybody involved Cole offered special praise to Housing and Warrior Athletics for their participation and presented a special Secret Santa award to John Tillman Director of Institutional Research According to Salvation Army Major Debi Shrum Turlock Together this year will collect toys from 18 participating groups and present more than 6 000 toys to roughly 1

    Donors Community About Academics Admissions Athletics Campus Life Giving You are here Home University News News Briefs Stan State Chapter of Phi Kappa Phi Earns National Honor Stan State Chapter of Phi Kappa Phi Earns National Honor December 7 2015 The California State University Stanislaus chapter of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi has been recognized by its national governing body as a Chapter of Excellence the highest commendation a chapter can receive from the organization The award given this year to only 29 of the more than 300 chapters nationwide honors the chapters that excel in recognizing and promoting academic excellence in all fields of higher education and engaging the community of scholars in service to others This distinction signifies a concerted effort on the part of officers and members to have an active thriving chapter which promotes and rewards academic excellence in every discipline of the University said Chapter President Janice L Herring Chapters achieving the Chapter of Excellence distinction receive a letter of commendation from the Society sent to chapter officers and campus administration special recognition on the Society s website publications and at the biennial convention a specially designed logo for use in chapter communications
