  • Campus Security Authorities (CSAs) | California State University Stanislaus
    department or a campus security department of an institution Any individual or individuals who have responsibility for campus security but who do not constitute a campus police department or a campus security department e g an individual who is responsible for monitoring the entrance into institutional property Any individual or organization specified in an institution s statement of campus security policy as an individual or organization to which students and employees should report criminal offenses An official of an institution who has significant responsibility for student and campus activities including but not limited to student housing student discipline and campus judicial proceedings An official is defined as any person who has the authority and the duty to take action or respond to particular issues on behalf of the institution Training Reporting Campus Security Authority Training Video What is the Function of a CSA The function of a CSA is to report allegations of Clery Act crimes that they conclude were made in good faith meaning that there is reasonable basis for believing that the information is not rumor or hearsay to UPD to collect crime report information CSAs are not responsible for determining authoritatively whether a crime took place and should not try to apprehend the alleged perpetrator The criminal offenses CSAs are required to report are murder non negligent manslaughter negligent manslaughter robbery aggravated assault burglary motor vehicle theft and arson CSAs are also required to report reports of bias related hate crimes for all of the aforementioned crimes in addition to incidents of larceny theft vandalism intimidation simple assault and damage destruction vandalism of property Additionally CSAs must report incidents of sexual assault domestic violence dating violence stalking liquor law violations drug abuse violations and weapons carrying possessing etc For purposes of CSA reporting please define a hate

    are here Home University Police Department Police Services Police Services Enforcement Arrest Authority Jurisdiction The University Police Department UPD has primary law enforcement jurisdiction on the grounds of California State University Stanislaus with authority extended to anywhere within the state This authority is consistent with the California Penal Code Section 830 2 and the California Education Code Section 89560 The UPD is responsible for the 24 hour protection of the entire campus community The UPD maintains a close working relationship with the City of Turlock and have jurisdiction on city streets near campus University Police Officers have the same full law enforcement powers and responsibilities under State law as municipal police officers and county sheriffs All officers must complete a State approved police academy a comprehensive University Police field training program and firearms training Download University Police Review pdf Working Relationships with State Local Police The University Police maintains close working relationships with all local county state and federal University Police Department agencies Information involving all incidents of suspected criminal activity known to involve off campus organizations representing the university community is routinely directed to the University Police by allied agencies Additionally the University Police and Turlock Police Services share
