    emails that were sent to listservs Toto Athena or off campus accounts If two people are using Microsoft outlook as an exchange client for the campus system an attempt can be made by the client to recall the message if they are using a PC Users of the MAC version of outlook do not have the ability to try to recall messages Recalling a message in Outlook on Windows First access your sent items folder by left clicking it once Open the message you would like to attempt to recall by double left clicking it On the menu bar of the message select the Actions menu Now select recall this message from the menu Choose the options you would like and click OK Recalling a message in Outlook on Mac OSX This command is not available on a Mac computer You would need to login to your account on a PC and setup outlook as an exchange client and follow the directions above How do I give someone permission to view my inbox or calendar Facts Desktop support will NOT setup permissions without the express consent of the user Sharing does occur between both Mac and Windows computers using outlook as an exchange client Setting up Permissions on Windows In outlook select the Tools menu Select the email options command towards the bottom of the menu On the top of the Options window is a set of tabs select the Delegates tab Now select Add to select someone from the global address book that you would like to have permission to your information and click OK This next window is a list of folders that one can have access too Select what level of authority this person can have for each folder and click OK Click OK again to confirm the changes Setting up Permissions on Mac OSX In outlook select Edit from the menu bar Click on Preferences at the bottom of the Edit menu On the left of the next window select the Sharing option Click the add button to select a user from the global address list that is also on the exchange system and click OK Now be sure to select the user in the box at the top You can now change select which folders you would like the user to be able to access and the permissions they have When you are done click OK to confirm How do I give someone permission to view my inbox or calendar Facts Permissions must be setup on the person s account that they are trying access Desktop support will NOT setup permissions without the express consent of the user Sharing does occur between both Mac and Windows computers using Outlook as an Exchange client Setting up Permissions on Windows In outlook select the File Menu Left click on Open once and then select Other User s Folder from the sub menu Left click the Name button and select the persons name from the global address book

    of these will be the new password you ve chosen How do I forward my Student E mail to another e mail account You may forward your Student E mail to an outside e mail account but it is not recommended If you automatically forward e mail from your Student E mail the University cannot be held liable for lost e mails and will not assist you with troubleshooting your personal e mail account If you decide you want to forward your Student E mail please follow these steps Sign into your Student E mail here Click Settings at the top of any Student E mail page and open the Forwarding and POP IMAP tab Enter the e mail address to which you d like your messages forwarded Select the action you d like your messages to take from the drop down menu You can choose to keep a copy of the message in your Student E mail inbox or you can send it automatically to All Mail or Trash Click Save Settings How do I change the email address I have my Student E mail forwarded too If you currently have an automatic e mail forward set up you can change the address it is forwarded to as follows Sign into your Student E mail here Click Settings at the top of any Student E mail page and open the Forwarding and POP IMAP tab Enter the new e mail address to which you d like your messages forwarded Select the action you d like your messages to take from the drop down menu You can choose to keep a copy of the message in your Student E mail inbox or you can send it automatically to All Mail or Trash Click Save Settings How much storage space do I get on Student E mail Student E mail offers more than 7 GB of storage for your messages and attachments Your storage use is based on the size of all of the messages and attachments in your mail including those in Spam and Trash What happens to e mail when I am over my storage limit If you approach your storage limit the quota indicator will change from green to red If you go over your limit incoming messages to your account will be returned to the sender How can I check the amount of space I am using You can check how much space you re using and your storage limit at the bottom of any Student E mail page while logged on I deleted a message earlier and when I logged back in it was not in my trash what happened Messages left in Trash for 30 days will be permanently deleted automatically Messages that are permanently deleted manually or automatically cannot be recovered Do I get any protection from Spam or Viruses Yes the Student E mail automatically scans messages to determine if they contain a virus or if they are Spam Messages thought to be
