    Now in his second year as principal of Faith Middle School Mood has more than 30 years of experience in education and a diverse background as a teacher and principal for several schools within the Departmentof Defense Education Activity Mood taught in Indianapolis area schools before entering DoDEA in 1982 His first assignment was Hahn Middle High School in Germany He also taught at Wagner High School in the Philippines and returned to Germany at Karlsruhe Middle High School and later Vilseck Middle High School He later became the first assistant principal of Yokota Middle School in Japan in August 2000 Mood then became the principal of Seoul American Middle School in March 2004 before returning to Yokota Air Base as the principal of Yokota High School for the 2009 2010 school year He left that position to become the principal of Faith Middle School in August 2013 This is my 33rd year serving our nation s active dutyand DOD civilians in Germany the Philippines Korea Japan and here at Fort Benning he said Being the principal at Faith Middle School and being back in the U S are particular pleasures Mood said his goal for Faith is to continue to provide curriculums and programs that allow students to strive for excellence and prepare for the future Currently 119 students are earning high school credits in algebra geometry Chinese Mandarin and Spanish he said which has doubled in number since last year The school offers six sports and extra curricular activities such as the chess club student council robotics league and the National Junior Honor Society Students are also responsible for keeping trackof their test scores and progress in classes throughout the year Kids actually get to be a part of their own achievement levels They are looking at what

    for students and staff Allen began her career at Wilson in 1998 as a second grade reading teacher and later became assistant principal She also served as a principal at Camp Lejeune North Carolina before returning to the area to take on the position as principal at Wilson The model at Wilson Elementary is I can and I will do my very best she said That s my charge to the public and the community I can and will do my very best to serve my kids and their Families I want them to have that level of confidence that whatever they do it s going to be their best Allen said her goal for Wilson is educate engage and enrich each student by offering a variety of opportunities that promote creativity collaboration communication and critical thinking This year she said the school is excited to offer a running club student government as well as starting Partners in Education collaboration with the Infantry Basic Officer Leadership Course a LEGO Education WeDo curriculum and robotics program The program introduces primary school students to build program and test their solutions based on real life robotics technology Our little ones are now learning to program solve problems and read as much as possible to make this happen Allen said We want to make sure that all kids have the opportunity to communicate It s hard to problem solve if you can t explain what you want to do so we want to improve reading and ensure that students are able to process that and explain why they are doing it Allen said these opportunities allow students to try new things and take risks that will help them to make valuable career choices later in life Additionally Allen said her own upbringing in an
