    eCommerce Resources Contacts DoDEA Procurement Welcome to the Department of Defense Education Activity DoDEA Procurement Division This website is designed to assist anyone who is interested in doing business with DoDEA or wants information about DoDEA s Procurement Division The Procurement Division is comprised of four offices which contract for supplies and services in support of DoDEA s mission The locations of these offices are DoDEA Headquarters Alexandria VA DoDEA Europe Mainz Kastel Germany DoDEA Pacific Okinawa Japan DoDEA Americas Peachtree City Georgia As you navigate through the Procurement Division s webpages you will find information about doing business with DoDEA the contracting process Federal and Department of Defense procurement policy the electronic systems used in the procurement process i e eCommerce and DoDEA s grants program Click on the buttons at the top of this page or the organizational chart below for information and Points of Contact for each of these procurement areas What do we buy The DoDEA Procurement Division buys goods and services for all of DoDEA including over 200 elementary middle and high schools and DoDEA headquarters We typically procure educational materials school bus transportation custodial services office supplies and equipment professional services information technology professional development school furniture The major differences between DoDEA schools and other public schools are the nature of our student population children of uniformed military personnel and the location of our schools mostly on or near military bases in the U S and abroad These differences present unique challenges which may affect DoDEA requirements Mission To provide expert professional acquisition services in support of the education of children in military families across the globe while maintaining compliance with federal and DoD procurement laws and regulations Vision We are a respected business partner to our requiring offices providing them with innovative and

    requirements For questions about information not contained on this page please contact the DoDEA school in your community About DoDEA DoDEA is a field activity of the Office of the Secretary of Defense It is headed by a Director who oversees all agency functions from DoDEA headquarters in Alexandria Virginia DoDEA s schools are divided into 3 geographic areas Each area is managed by an area director Within each of these three areas schools are organized into districts headed by superintendents About DoDEA Americas DDESS About DoDEA Europe About DoDEA Pacific Locations of DoDEA Schools DoDEA s schools serve the children of military service members and Department of Defense civilian employees throughout the world Eligibility Guidelines DoDEA eligibility enrollment policies differ between the two types of schools The following information provides information about eligibility for the 2 types of DoDEA schools Americas DDESS Eligibility Europe DoDDS Schools Enrollment Pacific DoDDS Eligibility Enrollment Immunizations Required Students who enroll in Department of Defense Education Activity DoDEA schools are required to meet specific immunization requirements Parents guardians or sponsors should maintain their child s immunizations in accordance with the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices ACIP Immunization compliance is a condition of attendance in the DoDEA system School Calendars DoDEA calendars may vary by district or community Parents should consult the school calendars for important events non student days and school recesses It is imperative that parents use the school calendar in planning family trips and other planned absences from school Transportation A great deal of planning and coordination is involved in operating DoDEA s worldwide student transportation system In addition to providing daily commuting services DoDEA also provides transportation support for students traveling to and from curricular and co curricular activities after school activities and clubs sports practices and events and other special school events DoDEA provides special needs students with dedicated transportation services that are supported with trained safety aides on board every school transportation vehicle Americas Student Transportation Europe Student Transportation Pacific Student Transportation Student Meals To the maximum extent possible DoDEA schools participate in available DoD Student Meal Programs Qualified child nutrition professionals provide students with access to a variety of affordable nutritious and appealing foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students and accommodate religious ethnic and cultural diversity of the student body in meal planning and provides clean safe and pleasant settings and adequate time for students to eat Curriculum The DoDEA instructional program provides a comprehensive prekindergarten through 12th grade curriculum that is dedicated to attaining highest student achievement for all students Accreditation Accreditation is the act of granting credit or recognition especially with respect to educational institution that maintains suitable standards Currently 100 of DoDEA schools are accredited and in good standing with their regional accrediting agency Special Education In DoDEA s Community Strategic Plan the vision statement the mission statement and the guiding principles each embrace the notion that ALL students will be successful in our schools Special Educators work collaboratively with general

    personal knowledge or records of job related abilities or characteristics coerce the political activity of any person deceive or willfully obstruct anyone from competing for employment influence anyone to withdraw from competition in an effort to improve or injure the employment prospects of any person give an unauthorized preference or advantage to anyone so as to improve or injure the employment prospects of any particular employee or applicant engage in nepotism i e hire promote or advocate the hiring or promotion of relatives engage in reprisal for whistleblowing generally a person with personnel authority cannot take or fail to take a personnel action with respect to an employee or applicant because of a disclosure of information by the employee or applicant that he or she reasonably believes evidences a violation of a law rule or regulation gross mismanagement gross waste of funds an abuse of authority or a substantial and specific danger to public health or safety The prohibition does not apply however if the disclosure is barred by law or is specifically required by Executive Order to be kept secret in the interest of national defense or the conduct of foreign affairs except when such a disclosure is made to the Special Counsel the Inspector General or a comparable agency official take or fail to take a personnel action against an employee or applicant for exercising an appeal complaint or grievance right testifying for or assisting another in exercising such a right cooperating with or disclosing information to the Special Counsel or to an Inspector General or refusing to obey an order that would require the individual to violate a law discriminate based on personal conduct which is not job related and does not adversely affect the on the job performance of an employee applicant or others take or fail to take recommend or approve a personnel action if taking or failing to take such an action would violate a veterans preference requirement or take or fail to take a personnel action if taking or failing to take the action would violate any law rule or regulation implementing or directly concerning merit system principles at 5 U S C 2301 Merit Systems Principles 1 Recruitment should be from qualified individuals from appropriate sources in an endeavor to achieve a work force from all segments of society and selection and advancement should be determined solely on the basis of relative ability knowledge and skills after fair and open competition which assures that all receive equal opportunity 2 All employees and applicants for employment should receive fair and equitable treatment in all aspects of personnel management without regard to political affiliation race color religion national origin sex marital status age or handicapping condition and with proper regard for their privacy and constitutional rights 3 Equal pay should be provided for work of equal value with appropriate consideration of both national and local rates paid by employers in the private sector and appropriate incentives and recognition should be provided for excellence in
