    of the Center for Child and Family Policy Associate Director of the Center for Child Family Policy Associate Professor in the Sanford School of Public Policy Research Projects Week in the Life Study Income Inequality and Child Health Studying Human Development with 21st Century Technology Overview Candice Odgers is an Associate Professor of Public Policy Psychology and Neuroscience and Associate Director of the Center for Child and Family Policy at Duke University She received her PhD in Psychology from the University of Virginia and completed her postdoctoral training at the Social Genetic and Developmental Psychiatry Centre in London England Her research focuses on how social inequalities and early adversity influence children s future health and well being with an emphasis on how new technologies including mobile phones and web based tools can be used to understand and improve the lives of young people Odgers was a William T Grant Scholar and the recipient of early career awards from the American Psychological Association the Society for Research in Child Development and the Royal Society of Canada In 2012 she received the Janet Taylor Spence Award from the Association for Psychological Science for transformative early career contributions to psychological science Most recently she was awarded the 2015 Distinguished Contributions to Psychology in the Public Interest Early Career Award Her research appears in journals such as the American Journal of Psychiatry American Psychologist Annual Review of Clinical Psychology Psychological Bulletin and Psychological Science and has been covered by news outlets such as the Economist Huffington Post New Scientist London Times US News and World Report and Washington Post Additional information about her ongoing work can be found at adaptlab org On leave 2015 16 Publications Odgers CL Reppucci ND Moretti MM 2005 Nipping psychopathy in the bud an examination of the convergent predictive
