    FAQ Forms Graduation Information Cost Estimator Request Application Transcripts Online Application Veteran s Assistance Degree Information Degree Checks Audits Updates Applying for Graduation and Diploma Ordering Degree Checks Audits Once a student has completed 60 or more credit hours an official degree check audit is necessary Requests for degree checks may be picked up in the Office of Admissions Records Room 111 of the Administration Building After the request is completed by the student it is processed in the order of receipt This process takes approximately three to four weeks however during peak times such as the end of semester or the beginning of a semester this time may increase Transfer students should be prepared to supply course descriptions of all courses appearing on their transcript including withdrawn courses at the time of admission These descriptions will be used to determine equivalencies at the time a degree check is processed Students will be notified by email when their degree check is ready to be picked up in the Admissions Records Office A copy of the degree check is also sent to the student s advisor Note Degree checks are not processed for transfer students until they have completed one full semester at ECU Degree Check Updates If a student has previously had a degree check and needs only an update the degree check form should be filled out and marked Updated Degree Check This also takes approximately three to four weeks to process Unless there is a major or minor change requests for updated degree checks will not be processed unless one calendar year has elapsed since the last degree check Students will be notified by email when their degree check is ready to be picked up in the Admissions Records Office A copy of the degree check is also

    an application fee All undergraduate students who have never attended East Central University will be required to pay a 20 application fee at the time of submitting their Application for Admission Graduate students aren t required to pay an application fee Graduate and undergraduate International students should pay the 50 application processing fee in lieu of the 20 application fee I will finish my course work this semester but I will not walk across the stage during graduation Do I still have to pay the 50 75 graduation fee Regardless if you attend the graduation ceremony you must pay the 50 75 for master s graduation fee A hold will be placed on your record and you will not receive your diploma or an official transcript reflecting the degree without paying this fee My name is Jane Doe and I would like to know my grades If I give you my social security number will you give them to me over the telephone Confidential information about a student s grades number of hours major etc are not available over the telephone However you can access this information on the web by accessing MyECU through the ECU website You must have your username and password in order to view them I moved and need to have my address changed If I give you my new address will you change it for me In order to have your address changed a written request by fax or mail will need to be sent to the Office of Admissions Records including your name social security number new address a copy of a photo id or driver s license and signature You may also access our Name Address Change form online I took a class and made an F in it If I retake the class again will the F be removed from my transcript No grades are removed from a student s transcript If a student retakes a class it is recorded in the semester in which he she re takes it A student may retake up to four courses in which he she previously made a D or F not to exceed 18 hours to have the first grade removed from the gpa Any course repeated more than one time will be averaged into your gpa I was born and raised in Oklahoma but I moved to Texas about two years ago and just returned to Oklahoma Will I have to pay out of state fees Yes out of state fees will be charged It takes one year to gain residency and one year to lose it See the residency policy in the ECU Catalog for exceptions I live about an hour away Is there any way I can enroll by phone East Central University does not take enrollment over the telephone We do however take enrollments through our Distance Education Office by phone for those students who wish to take classes via the internet or through distance learning I was in the

    commencement ceremony The ceremony is approximately one hour in length and concludes with the singing of the East Central University Alma Mater Morning Graduates The morning graduation ceremony being held at 10 00 a m will be for candidates graduating with a degree in a major field OTHER THAN Elementary Education Special Education Early Childhood Education Psychology Nursing Social Work Criminal Justice or Counseling all options These candidates should report to the ECU cafeteria at 9 15 a m to hear very important instructions related to the commencement exercises Afternoon Graduates The afternoon graduation ceremony being held at 2 00 p m WILL INCLUDE candidates graduating with a degree in Elementary Education Special Education Early Childhood Education Psychology Nursing Social Work Criminal Justice or Counseling all options and all Masters Candidates These candidates should report to the ECU cafeteria at 1 15 p m to hear very important instructions related to the commencement exercises All candidates are expected to attend commencement exercises PLEASE ARRIVE AT THE CAFETERIA ON TIME and report to the name card table upon arrival For directions to the cafeteria please contact the Office of Admissions Records at 580 559 5235 Instructions for ECU Graduating Candidates Disabled ECU graduates or graduates needing special accommodations for the graduation ceremony due to a physical condition should contact the Office of Admissions Records as soon as possible to make special arrangements Specifically no later than May 1 for Spring and Summer graduates and no later than December 5 for Fall graduates A 50 graduation fee is due by the end of the semester in which you are graduating Candidates completing two degrees will pay a 100 fee If you have not already paid you must pay before your diploma or an official transcript will be released to you even if you choose not to walk in the ceremony Caps and gowns may be picked up at the East Central University Bookstore through the day of graduation Announcements may also be purchased through the Bookstore Application for Degree Deadline for candidates graduating in the spring is January 28 2013 Candidates applying after March 15 2013 are not guaranteed to have their name listed in the commencement program but may walk in the ceremony Summer candidates have until April 12 2013 to apply for their degree Any candidate who does not want their name printed in the commencement program must notify the Office of Admissions Records before the deadline to apply for graduation It is requested that candidates wear dressy casual attire for example slacks dresses ties etc T shirts shorts flip flops etc are discouraged Corsages ornamental accessories or lettering on the hat may not be worn Honor cords and organizational sashes are allowed Do not bring any personal items with you i e purses shades flowers cameras since you will not be allowed to carry them during the ceremony They will be collected and taken to the Office of Admissions Records Room 111 in the Administration Building for you to

    Catalog FAQ Forms Graduation Information Cost Estimator Request Application Transcripts Online Application Veteran s Assistance Requesting Transcripts Official Transcripts Official transcripts may be obtained from the Office of Admissions Records for current or former East Central University students Although there is no charge for official transcripts the student must request the transcript in writing Transcripts may be requested via fax mail or in person however requests are not taken via email Official transcripts may not be faxed at any time If someone other than the student will be picking up the transcript s a written letter from the student will need to be presented to Admissions Records Office personnel at the time of receipt stating that that person is authorized to pick it up The authorized person will need to show a picture ID of him herself The following information is required when sending a request student s name student s social security number dates of attendance address to mail transcript phone number in case of problem student s signature date of request copy of student s driver s license or photo id only 5 transcripts per request Click here for a Request for Official Transcript form PDF document will open in new window and requires Adobe Reader Download free here Unofficial Transcripts Unofficial transcripts do not contain the university seal and are not copied on the official university paper Students may print unofficial transcripts anytime online via the East Central University website www ecok edu Click on MyECU student information located under the Tools Applications menu and enter your user name and password However if your unofficial transcript is not available online you may pick it up in the Office of Admissions Records at any time on a walk in basis or request that it be mailed or faxed
