    Staff Directory Faculty Staff Email myECU Portal Password Reset Student Email more Distance Education Blackboard Shell Requests Oklahoma Victim Assistance Academy OVAA Home Student Application doc 2010 Curriculum Outline pdf Needs Assessment Report pdf Links Resources Contact Us Oklahoma Victim Assistance Academy ENROLL NOW Photo Gallery Sponsored by the Office of the Attorney General June 2nd 7th 2013 East Central University in Ada Oklahoma Don t miss this event which provides Victim Service Providers Law Enforcement Allied Professionals with a comprehensive academic specialized training Application Deadline April 25 2013 The OVAA is an intensive week long course of study designed to improve the quality and consistency of victim services in Oklahoma It is open to victim advocates service providers law enforcement professionals and social service providers who work with crime victims The academy increases providers capacity to serve those victimized by crime encourages cutting edge thinking about ways to help victims regain control of their lives and enhances the multidisciplinary training currently provided The OVAA is modeled after the National Victim Assistance Academy offered through the Office for Victims of Crime The comprehensive curriculum is based on a recent needs assessment that was conducted after the Oklahoma Office of the Attorney General was awarded a federal grant from OVC to develop Oklahoma s academy The OVAA is looking for advocates providers and professionals who work in any capacity in a paid or volunteer position having direct contact with Oklahoma crime victims Candidates should have less than five years of experience working with victims Applicants with more than five years experience are required to submit written justification why they should be considered for the academy Participants also must be in residence at the campus residence halls for the entire 40 hour training The comprehensive academic and specialized training will include 40

    display ECU s permanent collection of art including art from Salvador Dali Ludolf Liberts Francisco Goya and a work attributed to Matisse The Sculpture Garden displays student and faculty work and is accessible from the lobby or from the working sculpture garden behind the brick wall The art studios feature northern skylights to provide even lighting throughout the day The four art classrooms along the east side of the building house painting foundations of art drawing and printmaking There are also two additional studios for ceramics and sculpture that open onto the working sculpture garden The Dr Arthur W Kennedy Band room contains percussion rehearsal space storage for instruments a band library and 8 private practice rooms It is also used from time to time for performances The Choral Hall has brand new Wenger choir risers and features a unique acoustic ceiling Recording Studio Students complete 30 minute assignment radio segment which air through KGOU a public radio station licensed to OU This partnership was made and has continued since 2007 These programs are produced entirely by ECU students and can be heard locally on 97 9 The William C Thrash Television Studio features 3 digital HD cameras with teleprompters and is the first true high def TV studio in this part of Oklahoma The studio is large enough to contain multiple sets including a green screen The TV studio also has special soundproofing between it and the rest of the building to cut down on extra noise and is on a separate slab to cut down on vibrations The Ataloa Theatre is a large proscenium theatre that seats up to 1 089 patrons with both floor 805 and balcony 284 seating available The highest point of the building is 85 above the stage The orchestra pit is automated to

    Portal Password Reset Student Email more Distance Education Blackboard Shell Requests Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center Welcome Schedule About the HBFFAC About Hallie Brown Ford Featured Events Visitor Information Tickets Facility Rental Technical Information Contact Us ECU Arts Calendar School of Fine Arts Home Hallie Brown Ford March 17 1905 June 4 2007 Hallie Brown Ford was East Central University s greatest benefactor Ford has given approximately 7 million to ECU She donated funds to establish and enhance ECU s Franciso Hatchett Scholarships and to furnish and equip the new Linsheid Library Her 5 25 millon gift to the ECU Foundation Inc the largest private gift to benefit the university was the start of the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center An additional 650 000 gift was earmarked for audio equipment for the center and for scholarship funds ECU named her a Distinguished Alumna in 1992 and in 2007 honored her with the Distinguished Philanthropist Award for her many gifts to the university The award in future years will be named the Hallie Brown ford Award for Philanthropy Ford was born in Red Ford Indian Territiory on March 17 1905 She was valedictorian of her graduating class at Beggs High School and put herself through ECU graduating in 1930 with a teaching certificate She taught briefly in Oklahoma then followed her parents to Oregon and taught in the Lebanon area She married Kenneth W Ford in 1935 and moved to Roseburg OR She played an active role with him in establishing and growing Roseburg Lumber Co now known as Roseburg Forest Products Co She became an active leader in business and community affairs and a generous supporter of education and the arts She was one of the founders in 1957 of the Ford Family Foundation which has helped numerous
