    Statement of Account will be available Your online statement will show instructional and general fees health insurance room and board and other appropriate charges Financial aid awards will appear as credits All fees including penalties must be paid according to the deadline indicated on your Statement of Account Funds must have been received by the university including outside scholarships or loans before a disbursement is made Conditions for Aid to Disburse Your application for financial aid must be complete View any missing requirements in the My Requirements and Eligibility section of Financial Aid on your SSB You must meet all Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements You may check your financial aid Satisfactory Academic Progress on your SSB in the My Requirements and Eligibility section of Financial Aid Funds must have been received by the university including outside scholarships or loans Timing Funds will not appear on your account before the beginning of the semester The disbursement process will continue daily throughout the registration period Financial Aid Eligibility Checks Please be aware that you must fulfill certain criteria of enrollment status and eligibility to receive your financial aid funds Your eligibility is initially checked when aid is posted to your Statement of Account for the term and is monitored on an ongoing basis Aid that was initially credited to your Statement of Account for which you cease to be eligible will be withdrawn Eligibility checks include incomplete verification SAP status and being in default or owing a refund to a financial aid program If you are ineligible for any of the aid originally credited to your account you will be responsible to pay by the deadline date those charges that were covered by that aid on your original Statement of Account Payment Process If your financial aid award appears on your Statement

    but together they create a diverse close knit community that seeks to create a better world Athletics Alumni Search Keyword Search Search Financial Aid Apply for Financial Aid Distribution of Aid Forms and Documents Reapplying for Aid Types of Aid Complete FAFSA Types of Aid Most students are eligible for some type of financial aid regardless of family financial circumstances Basically to be eligible for aid students must Submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid FAFSA or a Renewal FAFSA designating ECSU school code 002926 to receive FAFSA results Be a United States citizen or an eligible noncitizen Be admitted to or enrolled in an eligible degree or certificate program Be making Satisfactory Academic Progress as defined by the ECSU Financial Aid Office Not owe a refund on a student grant or be in default on a student loan Be enrolled at least half time six or more undergraduate credit hours or five or more graduate credit hours The type of aid we offer is in the form of Scholarships Grants Work Program Loans Scholarships Awards are based upon different criteria and do not require repayment Financial need academic excellence state of residency major of study are a few of the criteria used for selecting recipients Most scholarships require a 2 5 high school GPA and 1200 SAT score to be eligible and 2 5 college GPA to maintain it UNC Campus Base Scholarship Departmental Scholarships Other Scholarships Grants Grants are awards that are not repaid Only undergraduates who have not previously received a bachelor s degree are eligible Most grants are awarded to those who apply for financial aid by the March 1st priority funding deadline and exhibit exceptional financial need Federal Pell Grant The Federal Pell Grant is based on the Expected Family Contribution EFC which is calculated by the Department of Education based on the information listed on the FAFSA form the number of credit hours per semester and your cost of attendance If you are enrolled for less than 12 credit hours the Pell award is calculated as follows Credit Hours Pell Award Calculation 9 11 hours 75 Pell semester award 6 8 hours 50 Pell semester award 5 or less hours 25 Pell semester award Federal Pell Grant funds are not available for certificate special admit transient second degree non degree and graduate students Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant FSEOG The Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant is awarded based on your EFC number when you apply your financial need and funds available FSEOG funds are not available for certificate special admit transient second degree non degree and graduate students Students with the lowest EFC numbers receive priority FSEOG awards range from 200 to 2 000 a year Federal Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education Grant TEACH The TEACH grant is awarded to students who intend to teach in a high need field in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves students from low income families Eligible students may receive

    GPA The student may receive financial aid while on financial aid warning At the end of the warning period if the required minimum cumulative GPA is met the student is taken off of financial aid warning If the required minimum cumulative GPA is not achieved then the student will be placed on financial aid suspension during the next semester of attendance The student will not receive financial aid assistance while on financial aid suspension The total cumulative earned hours consist of hours earned at ECSU and accepted transfer credits Transfer credits are not included in the computation of the cumulative GPA for financial aid unless the credit was earned while attending other schools as a Transient Student where a student was taking classes at another institution as a degree seeking ECSU student B Completion Rate Quantitative Students must earn a minimum of 67 percent of the cumulative coursework attempted excluding transferred hours Failure to complete this minimum percentage will result in a student being placed on financial aid warning during the next semester of attendance If the student completes 67 percent of the coursework attempted during the warning semester then the student will be taken off of financial aid warning If the student completes less than 67 percent of cumulative coursework attempted during the warning semester then the student will be placed on financial aid suspension for the next attending semester C Maximum Time Frame All students must complete their program of study within a maximum time frame of one and one half 150 percent times the length of the program in which they are enrolled This means that once a student has attempted one and one half times the minimum number of credit hours necessary for completing program requirements the student will be ineligible to receive financial aid Attempted hours include all attempted hours at ECSU and all accepted transfer credit Double majors are expected to complete their program of student within 186 credit hours If the student qualifies for graduation in a particular major but makes a personal decision to double major the student is no longer entitled to receive Federal Title IV Aid Second degree students are required to complete their second degree within the maximum 150 of the hours required for the second degree maximum of 246 including hours for the first degree For graduate students the maximum time frame is 54 attempted hours If the time limit has been exceeded aid eligibility ends The student will be placed on financial aid suspension status Grades Grades of IP in progress W withdrew WA withdrew administratively WP withdrew passing WF withdrew failing and WD withdrew from the university are not included in calculating a student s GPA but are counted as course work attempted I incomplete and FA failure due to absenteeism are counted as an F All grade changes must be submitted and processed during the first 10 days of classes of the following semester Any changes after the first 10 days of the following semester
