    of all God was at the heart of this happy family and the Bible was read daily studied and quoted as the resolution for every dispute the comfort for every sorrow and the hope for every longing But one morning as Daddy was making room for the toys that were beginning to clutter the house he misplaced his Bible in the attic Things in the home seemed normal for a while except that reading the Bible stopped as life got busier Over time everyone forgot about the Bible and gradually their happiness slipped away Dad began to neglect his faith and his family mom and dad grew impatient with each other and the children and the harmony of their once happy home was replaced with envy strife and discontent No longer was God at the center of this family for He had been replaced by selfishness And sadly they began to value the family no better than anything else in the world THOUGH NOT IN STORYBOOK FORM OUR LIFE STORY IS BEING WRITTEN AS WELL ALMOST AT PACE WITH THE REST OF SOCIETY CHRISTIAN FAMILIES ARE DISINTEGRATING BUCKLING UNDER THE RELENTLESS PRESSURES OF MATERIALISM IDOLATRY AND SELF INDULGENCE MORE THAN

    he has taught for 22 years He studied at Biola Talbot and Dallas He Jim and Sharon Fleming Jim and Sharon Fleming are missionaries and the parents of four They served the Lord in Lima Peru for eight years and in Bogota Kevin Fitzgerald Kevin Fitzgerald was born and raised in St Louis Missouri in a large Catholic family At age 20 Kevin along with his parents Dave Glock Dave is a graduate of Emmaus Philadelphia College of Bible and Dallas Theological Seminary He has taught at Emmaus since 1968 Jon Glock Jon Glock received his undergraduate degree in Biblical Studies from Emmaus Bible College in 1991 He studied at Dallas Reymundo Gonzalez Reymundo Gonzalez sirve al Señor tiempo completo desde 1994 Reciblió su bachillerato en Estudios Bíblicios de la escuela Dr Paul Jensen Paul Jensen is an Associate Professor of Philosophy and Religion at the University of Dubuque where he has taught full time since John Jimo John taught mathematics to Jr High students in Chicago and Dallas for 11 years prior to his 7 years as a instructor in Emmaus Dr David MacLeod Dave received his theological education at Dallas Theological Seminary Th M Ph D In the past he has taught at Western Bible Dr Steve Price Steve grew up in the St Louis area and attended the Emmaus Bible Chapel as well Masokobi Bible Camp now Dayspring where he Sarah Poling Sarah has been on the Teacher Education faculty of Emmaus since 1998 serving at a half time status since 2002 She is a trained Doyle Roth Doyle Roth is a native of Colorado and an avid sportsman He became a Christian as a young man in a small church in south Denver Alexander Strauch Alex was raised in New Jersey and converted to Christ at

    of Abraham and Lot Both climbed a mountain with their offspring but with radically different purposes and shockingly different outcomes The Biblical Model of a Healthy Marriage by Bob Deffinbaugh Where would you go in the Old Testament to find the model marriage Abraham and Sarah Hardly Jacob and Rachel Not really Boaz and Ruth would be an interesting study but we find only the story of how they came to be married to each other with no real description of the way their marriage functioned In the New Testament we have a similar situation We know that while most of the apostles were married except for Paul and Barnabas we are given no information at all as to how their families functioned I believe this is by divine design There is a perfect model for marriage the perfect union of Christ and His church In this session we will explore the ways in which our Lord s relationship with His church serves as the pattern for a healthy and God glorifying marriage The Threats to the Family by Alexander Strauch There are many new threats to the Christian household This seminar will catalog these threats and provide many helpful suggestions for healthy Christian household living We know that the local church is no stronger than its strongest families The church is an extended family and needs the support of the individual families Strong families make strong churches This seminar will provide local churches and their leaders material for strengthening the family in a hostile secular society The Biblical Model Growing Godly Children by Doyle Roth One of the most challenging experiences we can have as Christians is the God given privilege of parenting However it s a mixed bag Not only is there great joy and satisfaction but often
