    able to be seen by a healthcare provider or are treated in our facilities you must make an appointment Please call 239 590 7966 If you need to make an immunizations appointment please call 239 590 1254 If you wish you may also come in and schedule an appointment that meets your needs If you have never been to Student Health Services it is now located adjacent to Parking Garage 2 behind the Arts and Music complex You will need to complete some initial paperwork prior to being seen by a provider If you are coming in the same day as your visit please arrive about ten minutes early to fill out this important paperwork You may also come in and take this with you and return it on the day of or at the time of your appointment REMINDERS You must bring your Eagle I D card with you for all appointments Missed appointments that are not cancelled at least 2 hours ahead of the appointment time are subject to the 25 00 No Show Fee Effective August 20th 2012 Please bring a form of payment for any nominal charges you may incur at the time of your appointment

    well exam visits contraception pap smears and testing treatment for sexually transmitted infections open 6 Do you have dermatologists or dentists there No we do not have specialists dermatology orthopedics ophthalmology etc but we can provide primary care evaluation family doc and refer as needed We do not have dental services open 7 Do you give out medicines We do not fill outside prescriptions However prescription medications antibiotics birth control asthma inhalers ordered by our providers can be purchased at SHS for reduced prices We also provide limited quantities of over the counter medications for free Tylenol cough drops etc open 8 What is Plan B Is it hard to get Plan B is the morning after pill It is taken to prevent an unplanned pregnancy in the event of unprotected sex It is available at SHS and at drug stores open 9 Do you test for STD s Yes and our prices are very reasonable Appointments are required open 10 Do you have condoms Yes we have free condoms located in Student Health and Prevention Wellness open 11 Do you draw blood Yes we draw blood for routine labs ordered at SHS or if the student has a written order from an outside provider open 12 Do you give allergy shots SHS does not provide allergy injections We do have a list of available resources for this service at SHS open 13 Do you have vaccines available Yes we have many vaccines Please visit our immunization website for specific information regarding what is required and available http www fgcu edu studenthealth immunizations html open 14 Do you test for ADD or prescribe meds for ADD We refer students to Counseling Psychological Services CAPS for testing and medications as indicated open 15 Can you get antidepressants at SHS Typically students requiring medications for depression are referred to CAPS open 16 Do you make house calls No Call 911 in an emergency situation open 17 Do you have doctor s notes for classes missed due to illness No Students can request a walk out statement that provides proof of the visit Students who are ill and contagious should not attend class Most episodes of illness do not require a visit to SHS Students are encouraged to discuss absences with their Professor or Academic Advisor open 18 Do you take outside insurance No However visits are free and medications and labs are very reasonably priced open 19 Do you have student health insurance available Yes students can purchase health insurance Visit the SHS website for information open 20 Do you have pregnancy tests Yes We offer inexpensive urine or blood pregnancy tests in our lab open 21 Do you have a lab We draw blood and send it to and outside lab for testing and we perform limited on site testing We are also able to draw most labs ordered by outside providers open 22 Do you do x rays No but we evaluate and write prescriptions for an X ray referral

    common symptoms of Zika are fever rash joint pain or conjunctivitis red eyes Other common symptoms include muscle pain and headache The incubation period the time from exposure to symptoms for Zika virus disease is not known but is likely to be a few days to a week The illness is usually mild with symptoms lasting for several days to a week Zika virus usually remains in the blood of an infected person for a few days but it can be found longer in some people Severe disease requiring hospitalization is uncommon Deaths are rare Diagnosis The symptoms of Zika are similar to those of dengue and chikungunya diseases spread through the same mosquitoes that transmit Zika See your healthcare provider if you develop the symptoms described above and have visited an area where Zika is found If you have recently traveled tell your healthcare provider when and where you traveled Your healthcare provider may order blood tests to look for Zika or other similar viruses like dengue or chikungunya Treatment No vaccine or medications are available to prevent or treat Zika infections Treat the symptoms Get plenty of rest Drink fluids to prevent dehydration Take medicine such as acetaminophen
