Fall January 1 March 14 Out of State Waivers are based on the University s established key selection criteria of recruitment retention diversity and service and awarded to students who are classified as out of state residents Out of state waivers are based on funding allocation and may not be awarded every term Eligibility Must be classified as Non Florida Resident for tuition purposes Must meet the published waiver application deadlines This is primarily an admissions merit based waiver program and priority will be given to newly admitted TRANSFER students Minimum transfer GPA of 3 4 All applicants will be reviewed and ranked according to GPA The review committee will also take into consideration other factors as presented on the application these factors may include outstanding leadership civic engagement demonstrated talents or other activities critical to the FGCU mission The Out of State Waiver covers the difference in tuition between out of state and in state tuition For Transfer Scholarship Award Benefits Academic Requirements Latin American Caribbean Scholarship Details and Application 250 per semester student pays the in state tuition rate 3 4 GPA or 1560 SAT Critical Reading Math Writing or 23 ACT International students with an F 1 VISA citizen resident of a Latin American or Caribbean country Other Opportunities Florida Linkage Institute Program Details Latin American Caribbean Scholarship This scholarship program has been developed to provide scholarships to international students from designated Latin American and Caribbean countries or territories that would then allow FGCU to classify these recipients as special residents for tuition and fee purposes in accordance with Section 1009 21 10 e Florida Statutes Criteria for Awards Student must submit the application to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions by the published deadline Student must be admitted as an undergraduate degree seeking student Student must maintain full time enrollment status 12 hours for the Spring and Fall semesters and 9 hours for the Summer semester Student who are enrolled as distance learning only are not eligible for this program Student must be approved to study in the United States with an F 1 Visa except for students from Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands Student must be a citizen or legal resident of one of the countries or territories listed in Appendix I below Student must satisfy one of the following GPA of 3 4 or SAT of 1560 or ACT of 23 or Students who have demonstrated special talents for example in fields such as music or fine arts Scholarship The scholarship award will be for 250 per term Normally the award will be for the Fall and Spring terms only Summer awards may be considered depending on fund     are a few things you may still need to do to prepare yourself for enrollment at FGCU Look over the Accepting your Admission Decision page to make sure you have addressed everything before classes begin Transfer students should also check out our Transfer Articulation information about how their credits will transfer to FGCU Orientation Eagle View Orientation is your first step to getting started at FGCU At Orientation you will have the opportunity to register for classes get to know other new students learn about academic requirements and start getting acquainted with your new University Visit the Eagle View Orientation website for more information on signing up for your Orientation Be sure to sign up early Immunization The State University System of Florida requires all students born after December 31 1956 to present documented proof of immunity to measles rubeola and German Measles rubella BEFORE they can register for classes The student will provide immunization documents from other institutions offices or the FGCU Immunization History Form at least 72 business hours PRIOR to class registration The documents will be reviewed and determined complete or not by the immunization staff within 72 business hours after receiving them This written document must be signed by a physician a nurse practitioner or a registered nurse and must be mailed sent via fax or brought to Student Health Services Phone calls from your physician are not acceptable Visit the Student Health Services website for more information and the necessary forms required Housing For students interested in living on campus be sure to fill out housing forms early Visit the Office of Housing and Residence Life website for more information on deadlines and the housing application process Financial Aid Students may apply for financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid FAFSA after

    Address and or Name Change Form Signature Page Change of Term Form Applicants changing their term of admission must separately contact the Offices of Financial Aid and Housing to determine the status of any previously awarded aid or housing assignment Additionally students enrolled in classes in the original term should contact the Registrar s Office and or their Advisor to ensure that they are properly withdrawn from those classes Admission Appeals Documentation An appeal of a denial admissions decision will only be considered if you provide new and compelling information that was excluded from the first review of your admissions eligibility Examples of this type of information include but are not limited to new test scores that are significantly higher than those previously submitted or disability documentation You must submit two documents to begin this process First you need to submit a 2 page personal essay in which you describe extenuating circumstances that influenced your academic performance discuss your special talents or abilities and explain what you expect to contribute to the FGCU campus Finally you must submit at least two letters of recommendation from academic sources such as high school teachers or college professors Recommendation letters from employers family
