    and required documentation could result in a non Florida resident classification for tuition purposes All documentation must be submitted prior to the last day of the drop add period for the term in which resident status is sought Additional information and list of acceptable documents First Tier at least one of the two documents submitted must be from this list Declaration of domicile in Florida 12 months from the date the document was sworn and subscribed as noted by the Clerk of Circuit Court Florida voter registration Florida vehicle registration Florida driver s license if known to be held in another state previously must have relinquished OR a State of Florida identification card if evidence of no ties to another state Proof of purchase of a permanent home in Florida that is occupied as a primary residence of the claimant Proof of permanent full time employment in Florida one or more jobs for at least 30 hours per week for a 12 month period Transcripts from a Florida high school for multiple years if Florida high school diploma or GED was earned within last 12 months Benefit histories from Florida agencies or public assistance programs Second Tier may be used in conjunction with one document from First Tier A Florida professional or occupational license Florida incorporation Documents evidencing family ties in Florida Proof of membership in Florida based charitable or professional organizations Any other documentation that supports the student s request for resident status Utility bills and proof of 12 consecutive months of payment Lease agreement and proof of 12 consecutive months of payment State or court documents evidencing legal ties to Florida No contrary evidence establishing residence elsewhere Documentation of dependent independent status copy of most recent IRS tax return Federal Income tax returns filed by resident s of a state other than Florida disqualify the student for in state tuition unless The student s parents are divorced separated or otherwise living apart and either parent is a legal resident of Florida or The student becomes a legal resident and is married to a person who has been a legal resident for the required 12 months period or The student is a member of the Armed Forces on active duty stationed in Florida or a spouse or dependent or The student is a member of the full time instructional or administrative staff of a state public school community college or university in Florida or a spouse or dependent or The student is a dependent and has lived five years with an adult relative who has established legal residence in Florida Independent Student A student who meets any one of the following criteria shall be classified as an independent student for the determination of residency for tuition purposes The student is 24 years of age or older by the first day of classes of the term for which residency status is sought at a Florida institution The student is married The student has children who receive more than half of

    with the required supplemental materials must be submitted as PDF attachment s TO graduate fgcu edu by 5 00 P M Non Florida Resident Out of State Tuition Support for Graduate Students FGCU Graduate Fellowship Awards Graduate tuition support graduate fellowship provides assistance for the out of state tuition portion only Graduate tuition support does not cover undergraduate courses or any fees other than tuition The out of state tuition support is highly competitive and is subject to availability Award Award Amount Weighted GMAT O S tuition portion only GPA calculated by FGCU or GRE equivalent Graduate Scholars Fellowship 15 000 1 3 90 600 Graduate Dean s Fellowship 12 500 1 3 70 3 89 575 Graduate Studies Fellowship 10 000 1 3 50 3 69 550 1 For two Fall and Spring semesters or 50 for one Fall or Spring Semester Graduate students applying for the Graduate Fellowship must be admitted as degree seeking students for the semester of which the awards are sought Non degree seeking students are not eligible to apply Only full time graduate students 9 credit hours semester are eligible to apply for the Graduate Fellowship Award Students must maintain the full time status throughout the entire semester Students unable to maintain the full time status e g drop a class etc after receiving the Fellowship Award will be subject to tuition payment tuition re calculation additional fees etc as applicable TOEFL is required for international students A minimal score of 79 iBT or equivalent or 6 5 IELTS is required Span of awards up to 2 years or 4 semesters for Master s degree students up to 4 years or 8 semesters for Doctoral degree students Students must reapply every semester to continue or renew one s award The total number of awards in each category may vary every semester due to budget availability Each College Dean recommends graduate students to ORGS ORGS reviews and approves awards ORGS may approve an award for one semester only Application Process for Non Florida Out of State Tuition Support To apply for Out of state tuition support students must Be admitted to FGCU as a degree seeking graduate student or have a pending application for admission Refer to individual program requirements BEFORE submitting the application Additional information and or documents may be needed at the time of submission Submit the application form for Non Florida resident out of state tuition support Graduate Fellowship Submit all additional supplemental materials as required by the individual program by the deadline Incomplete applications e g incomplete application form missing supplemental materials missing signatures or approvals etc will not be processed The application form for Graduate in state tuition support can be found in the ORGS Form Library Application Deadlines for Non Florida Out of State tuition support Graduate Fellowship Fall Deadline May 1 Spring Deadline October 1 Not available for summer terms Complete applications along with the required supplemental materials must be submitted as PDF attachment s TO graduate fgcu
