    590 7407 Grant in Aid The Program The Grant in Aid GIA Educational Leave Program is an annual initiative which provides paid educational leave to eligible employees pursuing programs of study toward an Associate Bachelors Masters or Doctoral degree Objectives The Grant in Aid Program supports The development and retention of high performing qualified faculty and staff FGCU s strategic initiative on diversity Eligibility Requirements Grant in Aid applicants should have at least two 2 years satisfactory performance in a permanent or continuing full time position prior to August 7 th of the academic year in which the grant will be awarded The applicant agrees to continue employment with the University for one calendar year 12 months after completion of the GIA Program U S citizen or permanent resident pursuing a credit earning program of study offered through a regionally accredited institution or for a degree seeking program Applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria Contribution to the University s diversity goals Benefit to the University Strength of personal statement Anticipated completion date of the degree Enhancement opportunity for the employee Length of service Strength of academic record Strength of references Grant in Aid Awards Contingent upon funding a total of up to four awards may be given annually The recipients may choose to use full time leave for one semester or part time leave in two semesters These awards will be allocated to Support Personnel SP Administrative Professional AP and or Faculty Recipients assume an employment obligation as a condition of accepting the award Should the employment obligation not be met there is a repayment obligation per the terms of the GIA Promissory Note The employment obligation must be fulfilled prior to receiving a second award Paid Educational Leave and Stipends Each GIA award recipient receives a stipend

    889 1095 admissions fgcu edu International Student Admission FGCU is authorized under Federal law to enroll non immigrant students The term International Student refers to any student who is not a permanent resident or naturalized citizen of the United States We look forward to you joining our exciting new academic community Applications to the university are made through the Office of Admissions Visa Information and I 20 Forms The Office of Admissions issues the I 20 Form the certificate of eligibility to study in the U S to International Students who intend to pursue full time studies to obtain a degree undergraduate or graduate Florida Gulf Coast University will not issue an I 20 Form to any student who does not meet the university admission and U S immigration requirements International Students must present the I 20 Form to a U S Embassy or Consulate when applying for a student visa generally this will be an F 1 visa If you currently have a U S visa and are in the U S please list your visa information on the university admission application You may be required to complete a Visa Clearance Form see Transfer Student information or submit additional immigration forms You may also need to present your I 94 Card your passport a U S visa and any other immigration documents you currently hold to the Office of Admissions If you currently have a visa other than an F 1 visa you should consult the Office of Admissions to discuss your immigration status Each visa category has restrictions on whether or not the visa holder can enroll at the university Prospective students who have visas passports or other immigration documents that are expired may need to seek services of an immigration attorney Florida Gulf Coast University does not
