    to provide a culturally immersive experience through partnership with an indigenous woman s weaving association in Quetzaltenango Guatemala Participants will learn about the history and tradition of indigenous weaving communities take weaving lessons and in return provide service Quetzaltenango also known as Xela is surrounded by two volcanoes Santa Maria and Santiaguito It is the second largest city in Guatemala and its main commercial center Xela is also the heart of the Quiche Maya people Program duration July 15 25 2010 Eligibility Students of all majors are welcome to apply Anthropology majors will fulfill curriculum requirement cultural immersion experience This is a non credit program This program takes up to 10 students who are in good academic standing for a 10 day stay in Guatemala All expenses are paid through students efforts Once approved to participate student is required to submit a commitment letter This letter will indicate involvement in organizing fund raising activities participation at meetings and collaboration with Guatemala association The Anthropology Club will supply partial funds for the trip How to Apply Submit application form and 100 non refundable program fee Cost 800 per person Included in the Cost Home stays Most meals In country airport pick
