    general attitude and behavior have been satisfactory If a student does not meet the above criteria at any time the student shall be placed on probation for a period of three weeks During the probationary period the student shall not be permitted to miss classes to attend school sponsored activities At the end of three weeks the student s record shall be reviewed If eligible the student will be removed

  • Procedures in the Event of a Serious Accident
    2 In the event that an injury occurs which requires hospital treatment an ambulance shall immediately be summoned 3 In the event that a student requires hospital treatment the parent of the student shall be immediately informed A responsible adult either the school nurse or her nominee shall accompany the injured student to the hospital 4 The injured person shall be taken to the most appropriate hospital within a reasonable travel distance of the school The decision as to which hospital the student shall be taken shall be that of the school nurse In the case of a student she should if possible consult with the parent of the student 5 The nurse shall notify the head of school s office in the event of a serious accident 6 If an accident is not sufficiently serious as to require hospitalization but the services of an accident doctor Unfallarzt are required the student or faculty or staff member shall be taken to a registered accident doctor of the school s choice All other relevant procedures as set out in paragraphs 1 to 5 above shall be followed Should the parent of the student wish to designate an alternative doctor the school

    it is the parents responsibility to take a sick child home or to keep a sick child at home Any communicable disease should be reported to a nurse If a communicable disease breaks out at school then a notice is sent to parents whose children may be at risk in order to advise them of this Allergies It is mandatory that the school is informed by the parents in writing of any allergic conditions both upon school entry or first appearance of the allergy and if necessary on a continuous basis Written information must be addressed to the school nurse Parents must also fully inform their children about the facts and possible dangers connected with an allergy so that the student is able to estimate the personal inconvenience or danger to which he she may be exposed The school will where deemed necessary inform the teachers and classmates of the student affected pointing out actions to be avoided or performed to preserve the student s health The school will cause its caterers to issue information about the ingredients used in the menu Trips Parents of students going on overnight fieldtrips are required to sign a release form beforehand which provides health and insurance details On school trips students may carry medication when arranged through the nurse beforehand Accidents An accident which happens during the school day must be reported to the nurse as soon as possible The nature of most accidents demands that a nurse use her judgment in providing a student with the necessary care as quickly and as efficiently as possible In the event of an accident or serious illness the student will be taken to a doctor or to a hospital as soon as possible If necessary an ambulance will be called The parents of the student

    to the Frankfurt International School for the reason of being HIV infected Parents or guardians of infected students shall be required to inform the school if a positive diagnosis has occurred or does occur Employment Current and prospective employees administrators teachers staff must adhere to the school s contractual terms regarding health matters and conform to the laws and regulations of the State of Hesse concerning HIV infected and AIDS diagnosed workers Participation in the School Program HIV infected students employees and community members may participate in all programs and activities established by and associated with the school All policies of the school shall apply to students and employees infected with the HIV virus Unless required by law the school shall not institute an HIV screening program for students or employees HIV infection is not a reason for the dismissal of a student or employee The school shall communicate responsibly and professionally to the appropriate parties information regarding HIV infected students and employees Educational Program An educational program about HIV infection and AIDS shall be offered to students employees and other members of the school community as may be appropriate The primary purpose of this education is the prevention of
