  • Jamaal Sheats | Fisk University

    Team As President of Cargill s North American Grain Business Sims was responsible for the production of revenues of 6 billion annually and 2 500 employees in the division In addition to his service on the Fisk University Board of Trustees for the past three years Sims previous board and related experience includes service as Chairman of the Board Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank Advisory Committee to the U S Secretary of Transportation Advisory Committee to the U S Secretary of Agriculture and a fifteen year member of the Chicago Board of Trade His current board experience includes Chair of the Audit Committee and member of the Compensation Committee Piper Jaffray Company Chair of the Corporate Governance Committee and member of the Compensation Committee PolyMet Mining Company and member of the board South Jersey Industries Inc In addition Sims serves as a member of the non profit boards of United Theological Seminary Minnesota and PACT Inc Washington DC He is a 1972 graduate of Paul Quinn College where he earned his B A in Business Administration cum laude The College honored him with an Honorary Doctorate He and his wife Robyn a Fisk alumna have three children Bradford Leigh Kirstin and

    University Ms Sims began her career in student financial aid as a student worker at Austin Peay State University Upon graduating Ms Sims was asked to apply for a permanent Financial Aid Counselors position within that office Since that time Ms Sims has held various Financial Aid positions as Financial Aid Counselor and Financial Coordinator at a host of Higher Education Institutions such as Austin Peay State University Tennessee State University The Art Institution of Tennessee Nashville Campus and Columbia State Community College before coming to Fisk University At Fisk University Ms Sims was promoted to Assistant Director of Student Financial Aid under the leadership of Mrs Mary Chambliss In August of 2013 Ms Sims was promoted to the Interim Director the position she is currently holding Ms Sims was able to bring a host of skills and knowledge to the Financial Aid Office at Fisk University She continues to bring ideas to assist in the further advancement of electronic processes and procedures to help the office move forward becoming more productive Rakida Sims Assistant Director of Student Financial Aid Education BA in Sociology Austin Peay State University M Ed Candidate Counseling Psychology Tennessee State University Contact 206 Cravath Hall
