    of study 12 hours course work 6 hours thesis and a Minor area of study 6 hours while also offering some elective options Students will choose their Major and Minor areas from the following options 1 Old Testament Hebrew Bible and Early Judaism OT 2 History of Biblical Interpretation and Theology HBI TH 3 New Testament and Early Christian Literature NT In most cases the student s Major area of study not the Minor area will determine the language requirements for the program For instance students who select NT as their Major Area and OT as their Minor Area will be required to know Greek but not Hebrew Such students will use the Greek Bible in classes with an NT prefix and the English Bible in classes with an OT prefix Students selecting OT as their Major area will be required to know Hebrew However HBI TH does not entail studying any particular language so students selecting this field as their Major area will study the language associated with their chosen Minor area of study It is generally assumed that students entering the M A already possess an elementary knowledge equivalent to one year of instruction in the language which

    with accreditation deemed satisfactory by the Graduate Committee No particular undergraduate major is required though some undergraduate leveling classes may be deemed necessary depending on undergraduate course work This will be determined in consultation with the Graduate Committee A grade point average of 2 50 or higher on a 4 00 scale With less the student can be accepted on academic probation see Graduate Catalog Academic probation will be removed after the student completes 6 hours with a 3 00 GPA A completed application including three positive recommendations as to the applicant s ability to do graduate work and his her good character along with a statement in the applicant s own handwriting concerning his her plans and reasons for doing graduate work etc For the MA and MMin only each applicant will submit official scores from either the Graduate Record Examinations GRE with a minimum total score of 800 or official 14 scores from the Miller Analogies Test MAT with a minimum score of 40 With the application the prospective student must include a nonrefundable application fee of 25 00 Some level of computer literacy is required for students in the graduate program This is an essential part of
