    two 2 hours per week in the selected area of ministry Step by step instructions concerning Christian Ministries usage will be available to the student from the instructor Brad McKinnon JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address There are currently eleven different areas of Ministry The student must choose an area of Ministry each semester Each Ministry course can be taken no more than twice Listed below are the current areas of Christian Ministry and a brief description of each House to House Evangelism Students knock on doors to interest people in studying the Bible in their homes Jail Evangelism Students visit among inmates at the city or county jails at specified periods and in limited numbers Hospital Nursing Home Students offer comfort to patients and look for evangelistic opportunities Preaching Students preach at least once a week and make follow up visits Bible Class Teaching Students teach a weekly Bible class in a local congregation and visit their students in search of evangelistic opportunities Youth Ministry Students participate as a youth leader or assistant leader in a local congregation evangelizing the young people and organizing evangelistic projects Visitation Students take part in a congregational visitation program and

    Estimated Cost Per Semester at HCU TUITION 4 476 00 REGISTRATION FEES 420 00 TEXTBOOKS SUPPLIES 500 00 ROOM AND BOARD 2 945 00 HOUSING FEE 300 00 TOTAL 8 641 00 Based on full time enrollment 12 credit hours Dorms are 1500 00 per semester meal plan is 420 00 per semester and provides breakfast and lunch four days a week during the fall and spring semesters only An additional per semester estimated food expense of 1025 00 is added here for meals not covered by the meal plan during the semester The housing fee is the required reservation fee and a maintenance fee 150 each for the first semester only for resident students The university retains the maintenance fee and the reservation fee is refunded within 10 days after written request by the student at the end of the contract period withdrawal from school move out or graduation SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION It is recommended that all applicants complete the Scholarship Application Form in order to be considered for a number of HCU in house scholarships The HCU Scholarship Committee meets in early July for fall semester scholarship awarding and mid December for spring semester scholarship awarding Applicants must submit the scholarship application by the following deadlines Fall semester deadline is June 15 and Spring semester deadline is November 8 College Readiness Test HCU requires applicants under the age of 31 to submit College Readiness Test CRT scores such as the ACT HCU Code 5116 or SAT HCU Code 0805 Official test scores must be at least 17 on the ACT or 800 on the SAT Scores must be sent to HCU directly from the testing agency CRT scores on school transcripts will not be accepted as official Scores must be received by the appropriate application and or scholarship deadline

    and family counseling through the Alpha Center located on the ground floor of the first married housing dorm to the left of the main entrance Trained Christian counselors including Dr Rosemary Snodgrass director Dr Bill Bagents Dr Betty Hamblen and Ben Hayes are available by appointment In many cases there is no cost to the student DL students may also receive limited initial counseling through the Alpha Center via telephone and more extensive counseling via campus visits to the Alpha Center Students may phone the Alpha Center at 256 765 7111 to speak confidentially with one of these mature experienced Christ centered counselors Health Services The DSA provides arrangements for students to obtain health services These arrangements include locating local doctors and medical clinics offering transportation to and from health services and informing students regarding private health insurance Tylenol and similar first aid items are available in the Business Office The DSA provides health information and assistance DL students as requested and feasible Student Activities The DSA provides a soccer field the Dr John Kerr Student Center and the gymnasium on campus for exercise and fellowship The DSA seeks to enhance and expand these facilities in keeping with student requests The DSA sponsors together with the SGA basketball tournaments ping pong tournaments international dinners game nights and other events Students are encouraged to request and initiate activities in which they have interest Using campus facilities and scheduling campus events must also be approved by the Public Relations Office which keeps the university calendar From time to time faculty and staff members will invite students into their homes organize day trips etc The DSA publicizes and promotes outreach and service activities sponsored by local congregations Faculty staff and students are encouraged to notify the DSA of any such activities planned by

    Package Once HCU receives your completed FAFSA and accepts you to the Undergraduate Program the Office of Financial Aid will send you a financial aid package and enter your aid offers on your Populi student account Your Award package will detail your funding offered and requests for any required additional documentation If you choose to reject any of the aid offered to you you must decline that aid on your Populi student account If you wish to adjust the amounts of your loans you must send notification to the Office of Financial Aid in writing or via e mail The Verification Process Thirty percent of all students who complete a FAFSA are randomly selected by the Department of Education to complete a process called verification which is used to validate the information completed on your FAFSA You will receive notification via your Student Aid Report SAR as well as on your financial aid package if you have been selected for this process Students who were not selected for this process do not need to submit the information below If you are selected for verification you must submit your IRS Tax Return Transcript and the verification worksheet For dependent students this includes both the parent and student IRS Tax Return Transcript Students and parents can request their transcripts directly from the IRS on http www irs gov or by calling 800 908 9946 For convenience you may ask that the form be sent directly to HCU attn Mechelle Thompson HCU P O Box HCU Florence AL 35630 Since this process could impact the amounts of aid awarded the Office of Financial Aid suggests submitting this information as soon as you decide to attend Heritage Christian University Additional Aid In addition to aid offered by HCU and the federal government many organizations offer excellent scholarships grants and other forms of financial assistance Students interested in researching free outside scholarship opportunities can do so at www fastweb com or www educationplanner org If at any time you receive additional aid federal regulations require you to notify the Office of Financial Aid If an over award funds received in excess of your calculated financial need results due to the additional funding the Office of Financial Aid must make appropriate changes to your financial aid package A revised award letter will be sent to you with the details of your new financial aid package Step 3 Paying Your Remaining Balance On your award letter the Office of Financial Aid will calculate the estimated amount needed to pay your bill If your award letter indicates that you have a remaining balance please plan to pay your balance in full on or before the first day of class HCU also offers a payment plan for interested students Please contact the Office of Financial Aid for more information Entrance Counseling Federal regulations require that before any Federal Direct Loans are disbursed to a student s account the student must complete an entrance counseling session This takes about 20
