I wouldn t be completely lost when I started the next chapter of my life at a new and much bigger school What were your favorite parts of your Hesston Experience There are too many to count but I can name a few I absolutely loved the community atmosphere being able to walk across campus in two minutes and always being able to see a familiar face The instructor student relationship is very unique and special I loved being comfortable enough to get help from my instructors when I needed it and how they went out of their way to ask me how my day was and be there to support me through difficult times Being a resident assistant RA was another favorite I built relationships with the amazing women in my mod and had the support of the other RAs One of the most important parts of my Hesston Experience was the friendships I made that will last a lifetime What are your favorite parts of your K State experience K State has a family atmosphere something that is hard to understand until you experience it You may not know many people as you re walking through campus but students are always open to stop and help you Football games are a blast I joined the new sorority on campus so I have been placed in leadership positions I ve helped raise money to support diabetes awareness and I ve been part of community service opportunities My favorite things is joining Christian Challenge a student ministry that meets every week to worship together They also provide small groups and the one I joined has been one of the biggest support systems I ve had in my faith and everyday life Are you glad you went to Hesston and went

to K State K State was always my first choice and I didn t really have anywhere else that I thought about going In what ways did Hesston prepare you well for transfer Hesston prepared me by offering challenging courses and having instructors that are willing to work with you in order to help you understand and learn to figure things out on your own That really helped when it came time to transfer because at a large school you don t get that one on one experience What were your favorite parts of your Hesston Experience My favorite part of my Hesston Experience is the family atmosphere I liked being able to say hello to everyone on the sidewalk as I passed them and feeling as if I could still be myself and people would accept me What are your favorite parts of your K State experience The best part of my K State experience has been making new friends and experiencing new things K State is different from Hesston and it has been good to be introduced to new people and experiences Are you glad you went to Hesston and went State Why Hesston gave me the college experience while still having an atmosphere where I could know everyone and I enjoyed that I feel as if Hesston prepared me for a state school in a way that high school didn t I don t think I was actually ready for a big school coming out of high school but Hesston prepared me and equipped me with what I needed What is your major Business management What do you want to do after finishing your bachelor s degree I am currently in the process of looking for internships as I continue my education toward graduation in December 2016

many different backgrounds which I believe prepared me for becoming a part of the larger WSU community Connecting and being engaged with many different people was not a new concept for me What were your favorite parts of your Hesston Experience My favorite part of the Hesston Experience was the relationships both with other students and with the faculty and staff As I have continued to grow and learn in life it has been clear that relationships are at the heart of everything we do Community is an important part of being successful and happy in life in whatever way being successful and happy looks and feels to you What were your favorite parts of your Wichita State experience I enjoyed the community and relationships that I was able to create at WSU While I had to work harder to find the community it was very much there and ready to be engaged with Whether it was playing noon hour basketball with a group of guys that became great friends friends made during 242 a Bible study group meeting great people in my wife s sorority or time spent with my professors and fellow students in the Social Work department there were many great opportunities to be in community Are you glad you went to Hesston and went State Why I am very glad that I chose to start at Hesston and then go to WSU I believe that the commitment that Hesston has to fostering student learning and intellectual growth along with a HUGE commitment to a nurturing and supportive community allowed me some opportunities I may not have received in my first two years if I just chose WSU There were times where I was asked a question or told a story or given an opportunity that truly

  • Olivia Miller, University of Kansas (Lawrence) School of Nursing, RN to BSN online program - Hesston College
Hesston I earned my associate degree in nursing ADN and secured my Registered Nursing licensure following graduation I didn t necessarily have to continue on to get my bachelor s degree in nursing BSN right away or at all I also considered Tabor College s Hillsboro Kan RN to BSN program In what ways did Hesston prepare you well for transfer The articulation agreement Hesston has with KU s RN to BSN program made the transfer extremely easy and painless for me Hesston provided me with the fundamentals and core nursing knowledge I needed to be a successful nurse My time at KU has simply been an addition to that foundation and I have expanded my role as a leader researcher and educator I hold close the holistic and spiritual values that the Hesston nursing program instills as this is something that is hard to develop in online courses What were you favorite parts of your Hesston experience My favorite part about my Hesston Experience is the relationships I built with the nursing instructors The support and mentoring I received from each of them I account to a huge part of my success in school and in my work What are your favorite parts of your KU experience I like the challenge of the courses and I notice what I am learning already making an impact in my work as an RN at Newton Kan Medical Center Are you glad you went Hesston and went State Why I am pleased with the route I took towards earning my bachelor s degree I enjoy being immersed in work and an education at the same time They feed off of each other and I can apply what I learn in the classroom to work and vice versa What do you plan to
