    Training Services About News Presidential Search Mission Vision Values Sustainability Dyck Arboretum Hesston Bethel Performing Arts Consumer Information Accreditation Governance Employment Bookstore Employee Directory Home Athletics Baseball Hesston Baseball ready to hit the diamond Hesston Baseball ready to hit the diamond Posted on January 27 2016 by Andrew Sharp First year Hesston College Baseball skipper Kyle Howell has the Larks ready to take the field in 2016 Howell has a freshman heavy roster but will rely on sophomore leadership to find success this season Sophomore shortstop Jake Shelby McKinney Texas a Tarleton State University Stephenville Texas commit returns to lead the Larks after a solid freshman campaign Sophomore righty Collin Loutensock West Valley Utah anchors the pitching staff following Region VI Pitcher of the Year honors in 2015 when he set the single season strikeout mark and finished 13th in the country in that category Having Jake in the line up everyday elevates us as a program Howell said He took a step forward this summer and should have a big year We ll hand the ball to Collin as our ace and are excited about the ability he brings to the mound I m looking for both of them to have a great year Hesston Baseball has a challenging schedule ahead of it starting with a four game set Feb 5 to 7 at Richland Texas CC to open the season I m really excited about this group Howell added Offensively I ve been impressed with how far we ve come since our guys arrived in August We re deep on the mound and with the additions of a few mid year transfers we are confident in our staff This group really loves to compete and we can t wait to watch them fit the field Athletics Athletics Women

    Governance Employment Bookstore Employee Directory Home Athletics Hesston College athletes continue to impress in the classroom and beyond Hesston College athletes continue to impress in the classroom and beyond Posted on January 21 2016 by Andrew Sharp From early morning practices to late night games sports take enormous amounts of time from already busy college students Despite these exacting mental and physical demands Hesston College athletes are up to the challenge as they can boast an impressive average GPA of 3 03 for the fall 2015 semester It makes me excited and proud that our kids are achieving Athletic Director Rob Ramseyer comments Our coaches do a good job of recruiting capable student athletes and our support staff does a wonderful job once they get here This semester 23 student athletes made the Dean s List earning above a 3 9 GPA and an additional 32 made the Honor Roll earning a GPA between a 3 5 and 3 9 The success continues outside of the classroom Deb Roth Dean of Student Success weighed in by praising student athletes for not isolating themselves into one specific identity Student athletes play numerous roles on campus resident assistants ministry assistants student ambassadors FYE First Year Experience scholars peer educators writing fellows and more Roth said Real world training is provided by athletics and athletes are masters at multi tasking and time management skills that every employer is looking for Coaches also play a pivotal role in the development of students I couldn t ask for a more supportive group of coaches than we have right now at Hesston College Roth Said Our coaching staff keeps their players accountable for their course work and collaborates closely with academic departments With motivated students and excellent coaches Hesston is well equipped to continue preparing student

    Values Sustainability Dyck Arboretum Hesston Bethel Performing Arts Consumer Information Accreditation Governance Employment Bookstore Employee Directory Home Athletics Men s Golf College launches men s golf program with hiring of local coach College launches men s golf program with hiring of local coach Posted on January 19 2016 by Andrew Sharp Hesston College Athletic Director Rob Ramseyer introduces Chris Frantz as head coach of the Larks new men s golf program Hesston men s golf will open competition in the fall of 2016 We re very excited about the addition of the golf program Ramseyer said We feel confident the program will attract high quality student athletes who are a great fit for our campus Frantz a 2002 Tabor College Hillboro Kan graduate and four year collegiate varsity golfer developed the boys golf program at Sunrise Christian Academy Wichita Kan before coming to Hesston A former faculty member at Sunrise Christian Frantz brings a wealth of golf knowledge passion for the sport and coaching experience to the Hesston athletic department I m excited to be at the forefront of a new athletic program Franz said Our goal is to help further the mission of Hesston College and to impact young student athletes both on and off the course Hesston men s golf will share a close relationship with the Hesston Golf Park an excellent 18 hole public course on the east edge of town We re thrilled to help partner with Hesston College and get the golf program running said HGP golf pro Grady Pauls This is a great addition for the golf course and for our community Originally from Waterloo Ontario Frantz has lived in south central Kansas since graduating from Tabor with a degree in health and physical education Frantz begins recruiting for the new program immediately Athletics

    Larks go 3 2 at Cowtown Classic Larks go 3 2 at Cowtown Classic Posted on February 9 2016 by Andrew Sharp The Hesston College softball team had a strong showing in its season opening appearance at the Cowtown Classic Feb 5 6 at Fort Worth s Texas Gateway Park Trailing 11 1 early to Hill Texas College the Larks battled back to take a marathon game one by a 17 16 final Hesston then downed Clarendon Texas College 6 3 in game two followed by a thrilling 1 0 shutout win over Bossier Parish La CC in Friday s final 3 0 heading into Saturday s play the Larks held a late lead against North Central Texas College Gainesville before NCTC exploded for a huge win Hesston fell to Ranger Texas College in the final game of the classic to finish with a 3 2 record Sophomore Gabby Willis Rusk Texas enjoyed a huge weekend in her home state going a combined 9 for 18 with nine stolen bases and five runs scored Kendra Honeycutt Lincoln Calif knocked in seven runs on the weekend including five in game one of the strength of a bases loaded double and a two run blast Freshman Ally Steiner Peoria Ariz had eight hits including two doubles three stolen bases and four runs scored Jerrica Brown Fresno Calif earned a win in the circle and had a monster weekend at the plate going 7 for 14 with three doubles and a home run Sophomore righthander Riley Hannemann Flagstaff Ariz earned two pitching wins on the weekend including Friday night s complete game gem Hannemann struck out 13 and surrendered nine hits in 13 innings of work Dakoda Lee Boise Idaho tossed three shutout frames to save the Clarendon win and held powerful NCTC
