    a valuable resource if you have questions about delivering accommodations to students in your classroom UITS Assistive Technology and Accessibility Centers recently created resources for instructors including guidance on creating accessible Word documents PDFs PowerPoints and Canvas sites Additionally Disability Services for Students DSS Faculty Resources and Adaptive Educational Services AES Faculty Resources provide helpful tips for faculty and intructors Students with disabilities must be able to acquire the same information engage in the same interactions and enjoy the same services as students without disabilities and be able to do so in a manner that is equally integrated provided at the same time and not separate equally effective provides equal opportunity and of a substantially equivalent ease of use should not be more difficult It s important that students with disabilities know that services are available to them Include a statement in the course syllabus recommended language will open in new window inviting students with the need for accommodation to contact the to contact the campus office serving students with disabilities and stating accommodations must be arranged with that office Read the statement aloud when reviewing the syllabus in class If a student reports having difficulty accessing course materials due
