    students who submit proof of an SAT score of 1890 or ACT 28 This policy is for Honors Program admittance only and will not affect the student s course placement as determined by the IVC assessment process CONTINUING STUDENTS Students with one or more completed semesters of college work Establish Writing 1 eligibility through completion of course prerequisite OR through evaluation by the IVC Matriculation and Assessment Office Submit an application packet containing A signed completed Honors Program application form with personal statement responding to application prompt Unofficial transcripts from IVC and all other attended colleges reflecting a cumulative 3 25 GPA on 12 or more units of transfer applicable coursework The names of three faculty from IVC or Saddleback College who have agreed to recommend you to the program TRANSFER STUDENTS Students with one or more completed semesters of college work Establish Writing 1 eligibility through completion of course prerequisite OR through evaluation by the IVC Matriculation and Assessment Office Submit an application packet containing A signed completed Honors Program application form with personal statement responding to application prompt Unofficial transcripts from all attended colleges reflecting a cumulative 3 25 GPA on 12 or more units of transfer applicable coursework Three signed sealed letters of recommendation from faculty from other colleges attended Please note Special application rules apply to students who already have a bachelor s degree or who have completed over 40 units of college work The IVC Honors Program accepts applications year round However deadlines do exist for priority registration privileges Submit all application materials to the IVC Honors Program Office Do not use a testing or transcript mail service for supporting materials Applications are available on the website the Honors Program Office Room A209 and in the Honors Study Lounge Room A201A Application to the Honors

    Research Conferences Faculty Resources Calendar Testimonial FAQs Honors Application Honors Courses Honors News Events Honors Student Council Page Content Pathway to UCLA and UCI Two of the most popular transfer agreements available to IVC Honors Program members are UCLA s TAP and UCI s Honors to Honors programs UCLA TAP Transfer Alliance Program UCLA TAP www UCLA edu The Transfer Alliance Program is a collaboration between local community college Honors Scholars Programs and the UCLA College of Letters and Science in conjunction with Undergraduate Admissions and Relations with Schools The program is designed to foster academic excellence at the community college level and to promote diversity and retention in the UCLA transfer population Member community colleges provide enriched general education curricula emphasizing critical thinking writing and research through their Honors Scholars programs Students who have completed the Honors Program at IVC receive priority consideration for admission to the UCLA College of Letters and Science Admitted TAP students are also eligible to apply for scholarships reserved for the TAP certified students The transfer rate to UCLA for students who complete the Honors Program is significantly higher than that of non honors students Transfer rates for IVC Honors Program students generally run between 80 and 90 compared to 20 to 30 for non honors IVC students UCI Honors to Honors Transfer Agreement www UCI edu UCI s Honors to Honors program is a special transfer agreement available for students from select community colleges including Irvine Valley College The Honors to Honors program offers high performing students who complete the IVC Honors Program several advantages including priority admission review automatic admission to the UCI Campus wide Honors Program guaranteed housing individual advising faculty mentoring for a Senior Thesis and renewable Regents Scholarships Eligibility requirements are subject to change Students who complete the IVC
